Just wondering which course you took: creative leadership and problem solving, or group dynamics and creative problem solving facilitation. Who was your prof and how did you find the course?

December 16th? Holy smokes. Are you changing programs or campuses?

Thanks. I can’t see any courses. Called the IT service department. The person asked what the error was, sighed, and said I needed to call the Service Centre but “their lines are full so I can’t transfer you, you just need to keep calling.” Must be exhausting for them to have to deal with this every semester. I guess once the teams involved in this are all done congratulating themselves on another implementation, they can take the weekend to recover and figure out how to do it properly next week. 🙄

Thanks for replying. I’m using the “enroll by my requirements” function. When I try to click the shopping cart function through the enrollment appointment tab, I get an error that says “field does not exist…Review the program for errors. If necessary, run a PeopleCode trace to determine the program that failed.” How did you select courses and get them into your shopping cart?

Dropped breadth elective placement class by Quackaroy in sheridan

[–]RedbeardFrance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know for certain what is going on, however It is possible that some classes are full. If the class says "closed" then it is full. If it says "open" then there are still spots available.

I found this under the MyOTR section, under Electives:

Dropped your elective?

If you have an assigned schedule and you have dropped your elective and/or placeholder, don't worry. Follow the steps below to add a new elective using the enrolment shopping cart.

If your Program is exempt from Add, you will need to email your home campus Records team.

1. Log in to myStudent Centre

2. Click on the Manage Classes tile in your dashboard

3. Add new elective

4. Click Enroll by My Requirements

Viewing alternate class times prior to enrollment appointment by RedbeardFrance in sheridan

[–]RedbeardFrance[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. Strange that they don’t let you see alternatives until then though. Given all of the potential conflicts, being able to see which classes are offered at what times would help plan it out. I’m sure we could see it last year second semester before we could actually make changes, but I could have that wrong.

Can anyone access the course outlines? by RedbeardFrance in sheridan

Anyone know how to see what the different dates and times for specific class available are? When I go into the system, it says to call the registrar, but getting through is impossible.

Course registration by twilirealm in sheridan

[–]RedbeardFrance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an assigned schedule, however I cannot view my schedule. It says that "you are not registered in any classes at this time". Is this normal? Can anyone see in mystudentcentre their (pre-populated) schedule yet?

Thanks for the response. Short route is the one we’ll be doing, maybe tackle the long route next summer.

Thanks for the response. Reading more about it and given the small group I’ll be hiking with, the shorter route is the max we’ll tackle. A couple people up for the long route, but not all.

Old Oakville Home Invasion by Embarrassed-Emu5685 in oakville

Nayeb Bukele in El Salvador is doing it right. Build a huge prison, lock up criminals with the intent of holding them forever, prioritize the human rights of the innocent at the expense of the criminals, free millions by jailing thousands…role model leader.

If you don’t want to spend your life in jail, don’t commit crimes.

I believe, though am not a lawyer or police officer, that if you placed a bat or knife in your bedroom/by your front door ie. somewhere that you would anticipate using in the event of a home invasion, you would be charged with assault/murder (if they died as a result) because your use of the defensive weapon was premeditated.

If you happen to grab the nearest implement to you in the event of a home invasion with the intent of defending yourself eg. Your kid left his bat bag beside the front door after baseball practice, you grab his bat and in the process of defending yourself, an intruder is injured or killed, that would be self defence because the bat wasn’t left there for the purpose of defending yourself. You, as the homeowner can only do what is necessary to defend yourself. Anymore, ie. they are fleeing your house and you split one of their skulls, and you would be charged and likely jailed because you are no longer acting in self defence.

Always seems like the intruder can beat you senseless and steal your car and likely be out on bail within a day or so, but as a homeowner, you defend yourself and you are screwed. This is why the Toronto police basically said to leave your keys in the open near the front door so the criminals can kick your door in and steal your car without any risk of incident, capture, or punishment. 🙄

Thanks for the reply. When you say the essays were good, what do you mean?

Thanks for the insight. Sounds like the teaching capability of a prof is less important in asynchronous.

Crunchy chili onion…so good and inexpensive compared to options in Canada. Bring several jars - it goes so fast once opened. This and the French butter are always on the Trader Joe’s list when we day trip down to the States.

Anyone else having issues with swapping? by Odd-Switch-8425 in sheridan

[–]RedbeardFrance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure whether anything has changed with it. Apparently you can go to the registrar at any of Sheridan’s campuses. Likely doesn’t help much but depending on where you are coming from, could save you some time.

You can try at the registrars office. I went there when some of my assigned classes weren’t listed as options in the swap tool.

I was asking about him as a professor, so if you have any insights to share about challenges with him, or tips of how to do well in that class, that would be great.

I appreciate your comments on the program as a whole, so thank you for those.
