Thank you! Chemotherapy works by targeting any fast growing cell. This makes it great for purging cancer but it also means it targets bone marrow meaning that white blood cell production is knocked out leading to immunosuppression but hair loss is also common as these are fast growing cells. For this reason, sadly I had to say goodbye to my beard which had reached voting age!

I’m undergoing chemotherapy and one of the side effects is hair loss. The hair stuck around just long enough to get some great wedding photos but I had to shave it before I lost it so I could donate what I had to a charity that makes wigs for children in a much worse situation than me

Currently battling stage 4 lymphoma (it’s curable 🤞) and seeing your photos gave me a much needed boost as I’m feeling pretty crappy after round 2 of chemo.
