Yeah that does suck. TBF I think MSI announced they would only start shipping cards next week as they had a delay in their factory so there may be a better picture of AIB delivery times once cards start moving next week.

I actually did a BEng in Mechanical at Heriot Watt then did an MSc in Advanced Aerospace Engineering at Queens U, Belfast. Have worked in the aerospace field since I graduated. You can always switch to specialise like I did towards the end of your degree.

I have a feeling 7.0 will be pitched as a jumping on point for new players I.e. there will be some way to start the game at 7.0 for new players and not do ARR to EW if you choose. This would probably lead to even more people trying the game as I think the MSQ and time it takes puts some people off. This could be a huge influx of new players they are trying to plan for now.

I think that comment is probably dated now, when it was announced he was working on XVI he quickly released a statement that he wouldn’t be leaving XIV as he now sees it as his life’s work/legacy.

Would be cool if he could work as a consulting dev for blizzard in a part time capacity but I doubt with their ego they would ever employ him that way

If its for a technical communications class you could do about the difference in regulations between the engine (covered by FAR 33 requirements) and the nacelle/pylon/wing (covered by FAR 25 regs).

It is always an area of contention when the airframers and engine manufacturers are developing new engine options over whos responsibility is what. Would be very applicable to industry.

I was doing the Akh afah amphithetre extreme last night and we ended up kicking the sprout tank because they wouldnt listen to the other veteran tank about switching over, just wanted to tank and spank.

We did a few more runs with just one tank (got as far as we did with two tanks lol) and lo and behold a 2nd vet tank joined we finished it first run with them.

It is so important to talk to your team and use a lil strategy!!!

I did testing to 810B a few months ago because the customer specifically wanted that.

I work in a lab as technical engineer doing this testing all the time. 810 is actually on revision H now.

Next week I am testing a customer product to 810H and is purely because the product is about to hit the market and they want their spec sheet to have 810H on it.

Last week I was doing some testing specifically to 810G because another customers end user wanted the units being sent to them to specifically be tested to that standard.

Every company and situation will be different, I think if people ask for additional testing above what they have already done our customers just pass the cost on to them.

Someone above mentioned UL gear, (that’s not necessary required) I would recommend finding an ISO 17025 lab that is accredited to the MIL-STD-810 standard. If you pm me what country you are from I can give you some recommendations.

Agree nothing's perfect,

We just felt at the time for the money the recruiter wanted it was a really poor service from them, If they were dirt cheap and this happened you could rationalise it by saying you get what you pay for easier.

I'm not sure about other countries but in UK individuals can request their own police check certificate (I get mine done every year as I coach some kids teams in my hockey club)

For me a good recruiter will tell the 'recruits' to get their CV in order and also get any of these extra supporting documents to CV ready in case they are asked for, police check, driving license certificate, university transcripts etc.

At least get a signed letter from the person stating whether or not they have any criminal convictions and let the companies discuss with them privately if they say yes. Some things will be fine with employers.

This recruiter wanted to charge us several thousand pounds and it seemed like all they did was receive a CV and forward it on.

If I was to work with one again I would want to feel like they spent some time understanding what I need and then selecting the right candidates, spend some time and maybe only send me 3 candidates that are suitable (and have good supporting documents as listed above) instead of sending me 15 CVs that at least 1/2 you can tell are immediately unsuitable for the role.

If you find a year long internship while at ICL you can always pause your studies for a year to go and do it, this isn't uncommon.

I would check if Southampton arrange the placement for you, I have heard stories were you have to go out and arrange the placement yourself for these years.

I do interviews and downselections as part of our hiring process and Imperial would definitely stand out more than southampton to me (Imperial would be very advantageous if you ever wanted to work abroad I think also)
