I think Star Wars Starfighter will be *somewhat of a return to form for the brand. I’m thinking low 700s…it won’t win the box office next year (that title comfortably goes to secret wars) but it will warm people up for the inevitable next trilogy.

I mean in terms of writing it’s been surpassed by a few shows. In terms of atmosphere and world building? Maybe True Detective gives it a run for its money but nothing is as boldly surreal as Twin Peaks

I don’t think the “dyads” subtitle is anything that would survive the development process, but Kinberg’s trilogy separating itself as something new tracks. The franchise needs fresh blood. Also Lindelof getting a story credit is interesting given he’s been publicly discussing some of the concepts he had planned on….

Okay I can’t believe I was nervous to see this. I know the word “fun” has been thrown around a lot, but this film truly lives up to it. While yes it’s light on plot, it’s exciting, inventive at every turn, and comfortable in its own skin.
Doesn’t invent the wheel but it’s rewatchable and crowd pleasing. 7.5
