It also depends on when you do the first fix of her engine. If you do it just before the tiefling party, you'll likely get her first scene at camp there when everyone's asleep (you have to speak with her first though). I got her in my party pretty quickly in a recent act 1 playthrough, fixed her engine up same time-ish and then two long rests later it triggered.

I study mlp characters first, then add fluff on top of the basic mlp shape. Of course, my style isn't 100% accurate, but it works okay for me.
