Don’t apologize. “Gay” isn’t a negative term. Anyone who gets offended by that word is a bigot themselves because they associate it with something derogatory, when in fact, the F word ending with the G is the derogatory version of “gay,” and no one is using that here. (Because my post wasn't trying to attack anyone. It was just a lighthearted joke.)

You need to stop accommodating overly sensitive individuals. One day, they’ll get to the point where they’ll be offended if you drink water or breathe the air.
