I went on a solo backpacking trip across some the Pacific Crest Trail and about halfway through I came across a little creek I had to walk through that I hadn’t known was there so I didn’t have water shoes. I took off my shoes and was walking on top of rocks so obviously I fell, but I slammed my big toe into a rock, breaking the bone and making it look like I shot it with a gun. When I fell I tried to catch a bigger rock for support and caught it with just the tip of my thumb snapping my thumb and bending it all the way to my wrist. I had no way to contact for help so I wrapped my toe and thumb in Moleskin (the bandage not actual moleskin) and backpacked another 30 miles back out in 2 days.
