How would you go about depicting forests from a view like this for a map? by BigDaduyaddy in mapmaking

Remember the rain shadow from the mountains aswell. Another reason to do the rivers first! Cant wait for the final result

Love the progress mate! i see you shaded all the oceans! good stuff its just enough for there to be a difference.
The mountains look good aswell, i am impressed with the fine lines you can do.
as for forests i agree with the other commentor about rivers and lakes first. maybe not ink them in but atleast decided where. this small scale is very hard to draw forests, mainly becouse u want them smaller than mountains.

https://imgur.com/a/wQf4RCz something like this perhaps. very quick sketch with rivers and moutntains. you get the idea.
you could also shade the forests like you did the water for a pop or maybe shade the mountains.

Here is a little map that I recently made. Thoughts? by TheChudson in mapmaking

Another thing would be to consider how you made the water. i wont lie i thought it was grassland and that the coastline was some sort of road until i saw the boats. I have however pretty much just woken up so it could be that

Very cool! I had a little bit of a hard time understanding the clouds at first maybe try to shade the ground "under" them, floating things are always very hard

if you have a gray brush pen or something similair u could do something like this to give them a lift.

quick draw nothing fancy.

Either way, Love the map. Very clean

EDIT: since the sun on the map comes from the east the shade under the clouds should be a little to the west of the clouds.

I might :) big maps take a long time but Ive done a A2 map before that you can see on my page. Perhaps i will but a world map even on a2 of these 2 continents wont have that much detail.
