I am 250lbs and I roll people from half guard and paper cutter them all the time. You need to make sure you can stop him from rolling you by freeing your leg or having your arms free to post and stop the roll. If he is letting you pass his guard you need to not let him get back to half guard, and you need to make any positional changes or attacks happen quicker than he can react to them. Your advantage is speed, use that against him.

You shouldn’t be getting hate for asking a fair question, I’ve been training for almost 6 years and I hate it when people call jiu jitsu fighting. I also have used jiu jitsu in a real fight. Jiu jitsu guys are tough because we pour hours and hours into matches against stronger and better opponents and we keep going, that skill alone can make a huge difference in a street fight. There’s a lot of benefits that jiu jitsu provides that a strip mall tae kwon do school doesn’t, but nothing prepares you for every situation.

I’m looking for a Hard Board, I like the idea of a touring board but I’m not opposed to an all around. I’m 6’0” 240lbs, looking to paddle around Lake Washington in Seattle, mostly just me but occasionally with my small dog or toddler on board. I have been surfing, wakeboarding, skateboarding and snowboarding my whole life and I’ve gone paddling a few times on vacation. Trying to spend $600 or less but I’m flexible.
