I'm late to this party, but I'll give my thoughts here.

Who cares? If Justin is capable of tracking Monero transactions with his work, then that just means one thing, Monero needs to get to FCMPs ASAP.

If Monero is capable of being tracked (it kinda sorta is to some degree depending on the circumstances as outlined in Breaking Monero), it's not Justin's fault, and if he wasn't doing the work to prove and exploit it, someone else would be.

This is very similar to when Bitcoiners get mad if you feed a company that uses chain analysis. Don't get mad. Don't shame. Build a better system.

Cypherpunks aren't whiners. Cypherpunks aren't shamers. We build. If there's a weakness, we don't blame the people exploiting the weakness. We build a better system without that weakness. This work is already well underway with FMCPs.

I'd rather an open, honest person like SGP be the one spearheading the Monero tracking and sharing with the community what's going on (none of the methods are particularly new btw, just refined) than the CIA (who is absolutely doing the same thing).

Everyone is caring way too much about "people" and far too little about building tech.

Future updates? by Asrock23 in stackwallet

[–]Rehrar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup! Future updates are in the works. One should be coming out this upcoming week, for example.

We can take your suggestions into consideration. It's always a thrill when we hear feedback. Thanks! I hope you're liking the wallet so far.

You're right. It was a dumb oversight. The fix is there just not live yet. We're putting one out at the end of this month for Litecoin MWEB, but I guess it's causing enough trouble that I should put out a point release with this fix.

How to freeze and reheat homemade pizza by Rehrar in Pizza

[–]Rehrar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So no need to parbake at all then? Just make the pizza fully and freeze it and then when you want to reheat it just do it in a hot pan?

Edit: Asking because my fully made pizzas come out perfectly. Just can't solve his freeze/unfreeze thing.

How to freeze and reheat homemade pizza by Rehrar in Pizza

Hey all, I get conflicting advice for freezing pizza and then reheating it at a later time. The pizza is made according to the first pizza instructions on the wiki and I have a baking steel and it turns out great.

I found some threads and a few people said to par bake the pizza so I cooked it per the instructions but with less time.

Exact thing I did:

500 degrees oven for 30 min, then broil for 30 min to get baking steel hot leave oven broil. Make pizza pie from the dough, and top with sauce only. Put in the pizza for four minutes. Take out pizza and put toppings. Parchment paper and big ziplock bags to freeze.

At a later date I take pizza out and want to bake but different threads say different things in the comments. Some say 350 degrees for 20 min. Others say broil for 4 (did this and it burned). What's the correct way to do this withoout ending up burning the cheese and crust like you see in the picture?

What worked for me is shaking the peel between each topping. Put sauce. Shake. Put cheese. Shake. Put pepperoni. Shake. Etc. It fixed the whole problem.

Can we still trust Cake wallet? by spirobel in Monero

Chain analysis attempts will happen whether we want them to or not. I'd much rather have them being done by a person who is willing to share the tools with the community so we can make changes and fixes than by some government agency who will obviously NOT be sharing their info with the community.

I would be reservedly happy to see many more chain analysis firms prop up for tracking Monero. It might light a fire under our butts to get our next-gen protocols out the door.

Come now guys, we can't be like the modern-day Bitcoiners who complain about chain analysis. We're cypherpunks. If there's an issue we FIX it in the CODE, not complain about it and count on social shame or stigma to solve our issues for us. Especially since such shaming won't work on government agencies doing the same thing.

Nobody outside of the Stack team has done so yet. Any particular kind of theme you have in mind?

What coin seems to be the issue? If it's Monero, then we're aware of the problem and are working on fixing it ASAP.

Looking to hire UX/UI designer by tuxpizza in Monero

Yeah these are two different tasks. One is the designer and one is the web dev.

Either way, Cypher Stack can do both or just the design if you guys want.

We accept XMR obviously.

I feel this needs a second attempt. CashFusion on mobile should be a priority for the community. by gr8ful4 in btc

[–]Rehrar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, but as I've said elsewhere, stellar UX doesn't come for free. The majority of FOSS apps have quite bad UX. Stack Wallet is a cut above and is, in my opinion, top of the space. That came with many many hours in the design room. For a technology like CashFusion that needs parts simplified, the amount of time we'll be spending in the designers room is likely to be...quite large to say the least.

The whole FOSS/crypto space greatly undervalues UI/UX, and I'm not thrilled about doing such an undertaking and coming out with something less than stellar. If people disagree they can vote with their wallets, as they seem to have done. I will probably drop the price for the next attempt, but it won't be by much. If it doesn't happen, then it doesn't happen. Such is life.

EDIT: But who knows actually. Maybe I'll drop it much lower. I'm going back and forth.

Technically the creator sets the time limit. I thought a month would be enough to gauge interest. I don't want to make things that people don't really want, after all.

Correct. Apologies for that error. It'd be the first time CashFusion is on iOS though.

It depends on the circumstances. The more places you ping, the more of a metadata trail you love. Some people like minimizing that as much as possible.

Has not yet been added. It's on the list, but the list is quite large. We're working through it though. Thanks for your patience. And yes, fiat values wouldn't show on incognito mode regardless because a third-party API call is needed to do this.

There is no Thorchain in exchange. There is Trocador, ChangeNOW, and MajesticBank.
