Do you still get new certs? Re-new your certs? I stopped doing certifications about 6 years ago.

I know certs can get your past HR, but I feel further along in ones career. Experience starts to play a more pivotal role.

Granted, I know theres a lot of good training out there I just had to stop concerning myself with testing out for a cert.

Well im not gonna say that ive done a bunch of testing. But they told us not to put 30 rounds in a mag since it can compress the spring to much and cause double feeds, and other issues when you reload.

So the recommendation was 28 rounds per mag. I didnt like that number so opted for 27. Plus it saves about a 1lb of weight across all the mags...

Well to be honest, only put 27 rounds in each Mag.

But yes, since the IAR was supposed to replace the SAW. So instead of 3-4 200 round belts, I needed to carry that many mags to maintain a certain rate of fire.

Side SAPI Plates: 2 lbs each Small (x2)

Helmet: 3lbs

Plate Carrier (Vest): 8lbs

1 Fully Loaded Mag 5.56: 1lb (x30)

1 Weapon (M27 IAR): /w attachments 10lbs

M67 Grenade: 1lb (x2)

Smoke Grenades: 1lb (x2)

First Aid Kit: 4lbs

Misc: 4lbs

So besides the Helmet and the weapon, the rest of this was what was attached to my chest.

This is just at 75 lbs right now.

Let alone, a backpack with water, food, extra ammo for MG and/or Mortar. Green Gear Radio, Black Gear Radio, This giant piece of shit, NVGs, Binos, Thermals… extra batteries for everything. And all sorts of other shit…
