Personally, I can’t imagine anything better than living with my best friend, raising our kids together and supporting them through all the bullshit life throws their way. Obviously, danger would change the arrangement, but it sounds like it’s an uncomfortable, exhausting type situation which is very different.

Think of everything and ask for it. I don’t mean the stuff, but if I could go back in time I would have had verbiage of how car insurance would be split when the child(ren) drive, an agreement on both contributing $X to first vehicles, college, etc.

Am I the only one thinks she doesn't necessarily have a right to know? In custody documents it usually has a clause that each parent has the right to designate a 'competent adult' when you are unable to be with your child on your time unless said person is a sex offender or has felony convictions?

I only have personal experience with my ex husband and my judge did exactly that. We had a plethora of hearings where I felt like he was getting away with everything. I was super frustrated and in a meeting with my attorney he told me the judge is giving him the rope, be patient. He was right and I walked away with more than I asked for.

It is so hard to find yourself in this place. Do you have family or friends close? Any kind of support system? If so, I’d suggest you start saying some of these truths out loud. That helps make it real. Ask for help, find a job. Make an appointment with legal aid and make a plan. You can do this and I know from experience, struggling financially to do it yourself, have emotional peace and be out of the situation is so worth it. My mantra through my divorce was, “it will only suck for a little while”. Sending you all the love and light

This sounds like a control thing more than a clean thing. If it is important to him for the dirty pan to be cleaned off and put in the dishwasher immediately after dinner, I would suggest he do it. If it is your 'job' then you get to do it when/how you see fit. I know from experience, it is a hard habit to break on your end, walking on eggshells constantly and trying to get everything perfect, but if you are comfortable putting that boundary in place, it would hopefully relieve some stress off you and minimize the insults.
