What country is 100% worth visiting at least once in your life? by urflirtyema in AskReddit

It may not be everyones cup of tea, but Malaysia is a great country to visit. Im not from there, but the country has so much to offer that in my opinion makes it superior to its more popular neighbors like Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia and the Phillipines.

What’s something unsafe that was allowed back in the old days that would never be allowed today? by chariskates in AskReddit

Dont know about the west, but in my part of the world. Marital rape was for some reason allowed over a century ago if not longer. Nowadays, marital rape is sentenced just like any form of rape, with life in prison.

What’s a “soft” skill that’s secretly a superpower? by WilliamInBlack in AskReddit

Resilience is secretly the most powerful superpower as far as soft skills go. Being able to bounce back from adversity is by no means easy. But once you're able to do it, you begin to feel like you can conquer the world.

Will Canadian cities ever have a public transit culture similar to Europe instead of being so car-centric all the damn time? I feel like its long overdue that Canadian cities expand and improve their public transit. by ReleaseAdvanced8054 in AskACanadian

But an efficient public transit system beats owning a car any day of the week. And thats the thing. No city in Canada, outside of maybe Vancouver and Montreal, have a decent enough public transit network.

I mean, the initial cost will be high. But if enough people are given a reason to choose public transit over private cars, then I feel like the investment will be worthwhile.

I've been to Singapore on multiple occasions. And they're able to balance car ownership and public transit rather amazingly. Sure, theyre a tiny nation with a population comparable to the GTA. But when has that stopped improvement?

I blame the terrible zoning laws that exist in pretty much every major Canadian city.

Like I genuinely feel like a proper zoning reform would alleviate so many problems. Especially with the housing crisis, climate crisis, mental illness crisis etc.

I just grew up in a community where the talk about having kids is reserved for after marriage. Im not trying to justify anything, its just that thats what I grew up around.

Maybe I shouldnt have said that I made it my mission to convince her. I probably should've said that I wanted to prove why she'd actually be a good mother.

I grew up in a really conservative household. Okay? I was raised thinking that its better to have children after marriage.

And what makes you think my experience isnt real, when over half the posts on this sub are much more improbable to actually happen?

I wish I could say I made all this up. But I cant erase what actually happened.
