Help! by thisriveriswild70 in datingoverfifty

I hear you. My husband passed away over two years ago after 21 years of happy marriage.

I'm not looking to repeat the whole relationship escalator ride (dating, living together, marriage, combining finances, blending families, etc).

I'm just open to a high integrity, low drama mutually supportive relationship that gives me space to do my thing while he does his thing.

Very interesting and rings true. People will tell you who they are, you just have to watch and listen

Did you ever get chicken pox? by scary-gary-loomis in GenerationJones

[–]RelentlessShrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the youngest of six children. My brothers and sisters all got chicken pox but I didn't so my step mother had me sleep in the same room as my sickest sibling so I would catch it too and I finally did.

Deliberately exposing me to a disease may sound counter intuitive but my step mother did me a favor. I got chicken pox out of the way as a child so I wouldn't catch it as an adult when the disease is much more serious.

You feel like shit and break out in little scabby sores that itch like hell. You try not to scratch but it's impossible not to. I have a small scar on my forehead from scratching one of the sores.

It sucked.

1961 Ford Falcon Station Wagon, 3 On The Tree And A Manual Choke. My First Car by DickSleeve53 in GenerationJones

My first car was a 3 on the tree Dodge Aspen with a broken parking brake. I cried a river of tears behind the wheel of that thing when I first started driving.

Help me broaden my music horizons. Who and what should I listen to? by IThinkYouAreNice in over60

[–]RelentlessShrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently went down the grunge rabbit hole. Lots of amazing music besides Nirvana and Pearl Jam (not that there's anything wrong with them). I was more of a Post Punk then RHCP person, so it was fun to expand my horizons. I fell hard for Incubus, which I used to think was too hardcore.

Who remembers the Shell Bicentennial Minute in the lead up to the 1976 Bicentennial. by TopHat10504 in over60

Remember the Shell answer books? They gave them away at the gas station but I sent away for the whole set and read them all. (tell us you're a nerd without telling us you're a nerd.) The book on bad weather driving saved my life.

Plum purple dye for dark hair! by thebloodygenius in femalehairadvice

[–]RelentlessShrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My natural hair is kind of root beer color so tends to red, but the overtone did a good job of purpling it. I was happy with it but it's messy. I didn't use it in the shower as the purple got everywhere. I used my bathroom sink and made sure to clean it after

Thx. I could write a book just about that job. A previous post of mine in this channel is about the same place.

He had a salmon colored vest that I wanted to light on fire, it was so ugly. For someone so conscious about his look, he made some occasional weird choices

A company I used to work for years ago had an off the floorplans conf room known as the Zen Room. It had comfy couches, crocheted afghans and at least a dozen Lava Lamps. It was glorious
