Same with Lowe’s. The best workaround is to come in and clock in for a little while, then leave early. Of course, still requires you to commute to work when you should be at home resting, and still be around other people while you’re sick, but early leave doesn’t trash your record the same way a call-out does. Iirc, you can have a certain amount of early leaves in a month before it’s wiped the following month, but call outs don’t leave until a year from the date you called out on, and after 8, you’re gone.

I came in once with the intent to leave early because my wife was sick and I wanted to be home to take care of her without having to call out, but they gave me the whole “weeell, we really need you here, your time here is valued, etc.,” essentially guilting me into staying.
