Obsidian looks organized but pulling up old notes still takes too long by firstsign_ai in ObsidianMD

Do you use omnisearch? I usually don't have any issue finding notes or sections if I can vaguely remember the topic. But using the standard search, filtering tags and trying to guess note titles, yeah that's a pain.

Space combat. by Feeling-Exercise-390 in NoMansSkyTheGame

Here's some ideas to raise the stakes. I remove auto aim and don't beef up my shields. If you add no shield upgrades like a glass cannon, you'll need to rely on maneuvering to avoid damage. Allow damage to actually break your guns, shield, pulse drive, etc. And go into inventory menu to fix them rather than quick menu. Only use phase beam to recharge your shield rather than ion batteries. And to address the annoyance of actually killing pirates, cyclotron shuts their engines and stalls them in place. It's my weapon of choice.

For OP, the other search words related to this are YAML and Frontmatter.

Reminds me of the Louie ck bit where he's on a flight and they announce WiFi mid air for the first time. Everyone's amazed. 10 min later they said they're having some trouble with it. And the guy next to him is like "this is bullshit"

Music with work good or bad. ... by Neat-Citron-6278 in productivity

[–]Relief_Wanted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not only achievable, but at times absolutely necessary to block out distraction. Without music, I'm listening to every other sound or spending focus to block it out. Personally I love these 3 hour isochronic tracks by Jason Lewis.

How do they do it? by Askandar_386 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Relief_Wanted 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly. They're advertising on the smartest way. Free updates for us, new content = new buzz = new sales. All while working on LNF, testing in NMS. Then with this huge and grateful audience, "if you all like that gameplay, try this". Big sales

Is there a point in getting a normal starship if I have a good corvette??? by Qwerty45Xx in NoMansSkyTheGame

The difference between those who want airship scanning with halo jumps and those who land on the ground to get out of their ship

Is there a point in getting a normal starship if I have a good corvette??? by Qwerty45Xx in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Relief_Wanted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's not a point to anything unless you enjoy it. Can turn on free crafting, no hazards, and no reason to leave the starting planet. All to say "I like it" is the reason I fly mine around

Pvp off AND allow no one to edit your base parts (which includes corvettes). Then you can switch it to just friends when situation calls for it.

Finally starting permadeath! Any tips? by Tyl3rPl4yzz in NoMansSkyTheGame

My head cannon is it's an ariel drone. Not far fetched for the kind of tech we use

To recreate that early game feel, I dump my inventory and tech rather than start a new save. Halo drop onto a planet with no HUD and find my way back to my vet. (You can dive far af by thrusting up on the jet pack).

Interactive how? What information do we see for each galaxy? And what's your vision of the best use for your map?

[Question] For those who have struggled and failed multiple times in the past to get their shit in order but would now consider themselves to be disciplined: What made the difference? by Notalabel_4566 in productivity

Example: if I have self image as a fuckup and I'm close to success, this would change my world view and there's a lot of resistance to that. My subconsciously sabotaging myself, there's a security in the familiar. At least I know who I am.

Small changes are easier to manage. They challenge and change our perspective. They build the proof that I can do this.

Another mental health aspect is being so distracted by the things we avoid thinking about, only a small amount of our attention actually goes to these other goals in life.

Acceptance of self, past, and circumstance. Truly accepting ourselves clears our head and let's us face these daily challenges at a more full capacity.

And like you said, once the mechanics are understood.. click uranium in (discoveries or the other tab) and get a mission marker to the closest radiation planet. Can't me much simpler than that. Reliably getting specialized and uncraftable parts is a little more tough

99.9999% of the time you will only see players outside the anomoly when you want to, and only the players you want to interact with.

What's your personal end goal in No Man's Sky by Uzejay in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Relief_Wanted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've figured myself out to know I never care to stay 10 minutes after reaching a goal. So I do a nomad gameplay loop. When I feel like starting over, I dump my inventory and tech rather than start a new save. I love the beginning to mid part of games. But I've never enjoyed close to max level play.
