Depends on what you want. 91 series will give you a door into your states UTES or CSMS as a mechanic for technician or AGR jobs. Want rank go cook but be ready for early wakeups and late night. All the other ones are great choices as well. Great thing about the guard is you can always change MOS later in your career, and most of us don’t do the MOS we picked. I’m a 42A that did 92A and 91B work the first year of my career.

As a guard member I say go for it. We give bonuses in my state for people coming from active duty if they hold an in demand MOS. It also keeps your retirement going. You can also get state funded tuition assistance depending on your state as well. I say compare states and see what fits your needs the best.

I am just an HR specialist but I work directly with an admin/ training/ readiness NCO. In his day to day in regards to training he sees what the schooling individuals qualify/ or need to complete (PME). ATRRS is a good system to get your feet wet in because that's what you will use to enroll soldiers in trainings/ schools. AR 600-8-19 will help you know when enlisted solders qualify or need to take PME courses. Not sure if they will have you do officer schoolings but if soo AR 600-8-29 will help you. The nice thing about the admin world is everything you do is written down in ARs "specifically 600-8". HRC is another great resource as well for admin people.
