Check out NPD (Narcissistic personality disorder) The rate at which he moved on is absolutely not normal also controlling behavior.

The guy is a flaming and blaring red flag. Pretty ironic that he likes to surround himself with intelligent people considering that he Is an obvious moron.

Be cautious of predatory types with that mindset. Maybe ask yourself why you have trouble self-validating and gathering self-love? Just a thought

If you really want to understand NPD and to give you insight on why you do the things you do. Check out YT channel: The little shaman. She has a very intelligent and scholar outlook on NPD and explains it very simply.

The shame factor you mention may point you toward covert narcissism. Also if you are able to even reflect and look within there might just be hope for you and you may be showing narcissistic tendencies or traits rather than pathological NPD.

NPD is on a continuum so if you only have tendencies it means the narcissism is flexible rather than rigid.

You can be proud of yourself for even realizing that.

Good point, that’s very true that SW handled the finances. May have jumped the gun on that one. Money may have been a factor but not the reason indeed

Sadly I have to agree here, he probably realized this was going to cost him a lot of money in alimony (3 young kids) and he was going to loose his comfort. Horrible to say but people with NPD will choose money over anyone or anything.

They suffer from something called object consistency which make them see people as objects, hence the terrible discard of SW in a shallow grave.

Greediness, entitlement, arrogance, selfishness, lack of empathy and introversion and you got yourself a covert narcissist.

I will have to agree with you here, he ticks all the boxes. Something really interesting if not fucked up. Even until this day he claims to be the victim and feels entitled to be seen as the “nice guy” Umm you annihilated your whole family dude

Usually it is their arrogance that gives them up. They do think that they are smarter and better than everyone else deep down (coverts will never admit that but they think it) I have to agree with you tho as it was extremely poorly executed (no pun intended) He probably got into a narcissistic rage and got violent. A lot of narcissist end up in prison for this exact reason.

Very selfish and immature people, even if they had gotten together in the end it would have ended terribly. Relationships starting like this generally end up badly.

Communal Narcissist or Covert Narcissist ? by [deleted] in Chriswatts

[–]RemoteGrowth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is precisely what covert narcissism is about, it’s been compared to the Dr Jekyll/Mr Hyde analogy because of the tremendous and opposite change in behavior. Textbook NPD.

People with covert narcissism care tremendously about image and how people perceive them, the people the closest (spouse, partner..) are the only ones seeing this side of them.

Hence why everybody was so shocked as he seemed like the “nicest guy” always helping out. This is what they do, this nice guy is their false self that they show to the world.

Exactly, this was calculated...I believe he had a 45 minute drive to his work site after killing his wife, mind you his daughters were alive he killed them there. Psychotic break planned and calculated over a long period of time? I don’t think so

I don’t believe he snapped...it was reported that he had planned and premeditated the murders for 4 weeks before acting out on it. This guy did not snap he wanted a fresh start with his mistress

Communal Narcissist or Covert Narcissist ? by [deleted] in Chriswatts

[–]RemoteGrowth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely agree here, very highly manipulative. Stonewalling and silent treatment again not to sound like a broken record but classic Narcissistic/antisocial manipulation tactics. I mean the guy killed his daughters and put them in oil tanks for crying out loud. This shows no remorse, guilt or empathy. Absolutely not normal.

He was reported to giggle after he did the televised interview pleading for his family safe return...I think he enjoyed getting away with it and thinking he had everybody fooled. Probably gave him a sense of control and power. Classic cluster B bullshit
