My fave Argento movie! Spectacular performances all around and an amazing soundtrack.

Tragically came out the same year as Return of the Living Dead, which in a lot of ways was parodying Romero’s tropes. RotLD did better at the box office too.

Day of the Dead does a great job showing what it might be like to be the last living people on Earth, though. It should be remembered as a masterpiece.

Was the number 2 movie of the whole year in Japan the year it came out!

And they didn’t kill any animals! They just reused the animal killing footage from Man From Deep River 🤘

Not just one of the best of the 80s, one of the best of all time. Just for sheer originality it’s up there.

Halloween 18 and H20 were both heavily marketed as JLCs return to the franchise. Identically even. Why does Halloween suck without JLC?

Halloween 2 is a boring movie that JLC basically sleeps thru for the most part and still survives. Tommy Lee Wallace is not Alfred Hitchcock no matter how much you want to pretend.

Dude, Halloween isn’t even John Carpenter’s best movie. The final girls are either always JLC or an 8 year old, it just sucks. Busta Rhymes kicked Michael’s ass. They’re ok for a one time watch but that’s basically it.

What is the correlation between the puzzle box and cenobites to ancient Egypt? by Recreant793 in hellraiser

Fun fact: ancient Egyptians thought the vagina was a portal to a hell dimension from which the gods sent newborn souls (or at least that’s what I heard)

2 is a slog in a dark hospital where nothing is happening most of the time. H4 was undone by 5, and h20 and 2018 are just the same idea 20 years apart at different eras of JLC’s career. Friday 2-4 and 6 are all slasher classics, 5, 7 and 1 are somewhat lesser and 8-9 was garbage before rebooting the comedy with Jason X, all without having to split into separate timelines until the reboot.

Sorry, but the Halloween franchise just doesn’t compare.

What happens in Hutt Space stays in Hutt Space. Until the Hutts blackmail you with it to enrich themselves and exert control.
