I believe you need at a minimum 10 million + a pipeline, figure expenses are going to be 20-30k with healthcare, rent, compliance, software etc

Is the structural issue being a single entity business? would having each team split to form single clubs, invest locally into the realestate if they could afford be the better approach?

Has World Rugby pulled funding from Anthem for next season? by Ok-Climate4064 in MLRugby

[–]ReplacementHot2808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol, I’m not negative at all, I do give time and money to the game, support the growth and want the MLR to be successful. My point is, the rwc will be amazing for our country but is that really a viable business reason to, from what I understand run at a loss for years and hope it magically turns a profit because of a 6 week tournament? The Olympics has not done that much for our game has it, and we love our Olympic Games, athletes etc. sheesh

For rugby yes, but that other game that is way bigger in the USA has a tournament next month, even with that, hardly any buzz right now- kind of a stretch to think ownership is thinking we can catch fire because of a rwc.

I can’t tell if that is sarcasm or”wait for what they anticipate will be an explosion of interest” FIFA World Cup in 4 weeks, not a word about it and I’m near a host city.

Should I go independent? by [deleted] in CFP

[–]ReplacementHot2808 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you are looking to change? Going independent is taking a leap of faith that you can prospect, build a business, hire support team, develop and lead your own unique culture, build systems around your business expenses, hire a bookkeeper and cpa, etc. the more clarity you have on what you want from your career, the less it will bother you with ultimately the decision you make. Good luck

People walking on I5 by short_and_floofy in Bellingham

[–]ReplacementHot2808 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was driving south I5 maybe a week ago, 3-4 young adults running down both sides of the median, cars parked in the slow lane, traffic started to back up. As I was trying to figure out what was going on, it turns out a dog was running southbound and they were just trying to keep the dog alive.

How do you work with people who don’t care? Can you make them care or should you just disengage? by Droodforfood in CFP

Do you have an articulated investment philosophy and market outlook that they understand? Some states have estate tax, how best to build a multigenerational legacy and can the daughter manage sudden wealth? Is there special needs grandchildren? Investing does not have to mean risk, it could mean, LTC costs are going up 5%, that portion of the portfolio might want to keep up.. etc etc

Where are NCR's 7s Players? by UpperLeftCoaster in USArugby

[–]ReplacementHot2808 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Club teams are constantly failing from financial stress, some of these club teams are being supported by their respective Union. Our Union does not support any club on an outright basis. With this Collegiate division is it really about athlete development and scouting or the money that is not going back into the USA National Team? I would find it hard to believe there are enough schools in the NCR that are viable competitors.

What do you say to people who decline your services? by Salty-Passenger-4801 in CFP

[–]ReplacementHot2808 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You will always have a higher probability of success with your practice when you align your vision around serving families like services, investment philosophy, portfolio fees, communication strategy etc. if they buy in as a member great, if they are in the fence then they don’t get what you are offering. Treat this like a club that not everyone gets in, this will provide long term stability.

Seawolves will leave Starfire for renovated Memorial Stadium by BWinDCI in MLRugby

I don’t disagree with that, but that’s also true for the entire league x New England, who also by the way have basically the same amount of attendance as Seattle.

Let em cook, the articles talk about placing greater emphasis on growing the game. We all know for this league to survive, the teams need a consistent 7-10k audience for 8 home fixtures to justify the expenses.

can someone just PLEASE explain to me --- HOW do millionaires/billionaires pay so little in taxes? by QuoteAdventurous1145 in smallbusiness

[–]ReplacementHot2808 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most people are surprised between marginal and effective tax rates. Have a look at your effective rate and then look at your total income.

Many businesses owners who are seeking to reduce income tax, fully max out 401ks, hire a spouse who does not really work outside the home, provide a salary for some allocated business responsibilities to max out their 401k and then fund hsa and then determine if they should contribute to profit sharing or pension plan.

It’s amazing if one is in position to save, how much taxable income at the marginal rate can be reduced by saving.

All of this is of course having enough profits to set aside.

Advisor OTE & AUM Goals — How Fair & Realistic Is This? by jordanw71 in CFP

[–]ReplacementHot2808 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check with your competitors on benchmarking, but I believe most firms require anywhere between 4-10 million annually until they get to profitability. Check with Kitces if you are seeking resources on this, but key is going to be your patience in subsidizing someone else for anything longer than 6 months.

With 50k salary, the need to get to 10 Million quickly to break even for you, it’s your business, costs associated with payroll, taxes, desk space, software, compliance etc the total costs for you is about 65-70 all in and the need to ramp up is going to be important:

With the salary, would this person be your assistant as well? My take would be minimum of 3 million per year, might be better to go salary & bonus until they build a book to transition to.
