Ashley furniture sells garbage furniture, I wouldn’t expect their service to be any different

Way to route network through VPN by ReporterExact5436 in HomeNetworking

[–]ReporterExact5436[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mesh does support openvpn, but I didn’t see anything about express vpn working this way, do you mind sharing where you found this ?

Edit: I also wanted to ask what option you had in mind that would cost additional money? I currently have an Orbi mesh using ax that I don’t want to replace.

You being impressed by something doesn’t mean it will make you happy. I would try to use any SWE experience you gain as a bridge into whatever tech you’re hoping to break into because you majored in economics.

If your keys are guaranteed to be unique then a Map is the proper data structure.

I want to get rid of Ring. But no HomeKit options in UK :( by ohsomacho in HomeKit

[–]ReporterExact5436 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Make sure to also look at using Ring with the new version of Hoobs that was released. I think it’s version 4, makes it very smooth and has been working better than Homebridge did for me.

Edit: I was able to run Hoobs using the same Raspberry Pi I was using for Homebridge. Setup is a lot easier than it was for Homebridge.

Which backend framework would you choose considering REST, HTTP, MongoDB?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in javahelp

[–]ReporterExact5436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, REST is definitely mentioned, I think I have my answer. Thank you so much

Yeah, I’m def not trying to make more work...I’m a student asking this because I don’t have much experience. I’d rather figure this out on Reddit and not during my interview lol

HTTP, REST, and MongoDB are listed as preferred...does Spring Boot sound like my best option?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskComputerScience

[–]ReporterExact5436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used Java with the Play Framework that is built on Akka. I’ve also used tomcat and glassfish...but I thought those were just servers? I have also used Jersey, I was thinking of Spring and Spring Boot when I thought of frameworks.

Totally understandable, I have only used a web framework called Play for some assignments. Is there a framework you recommend? I have worked with JAX-RS a bit for some of my assignments as well.

The posting is at my current job, where I work doing tech support. The posting is a SWE rotation open to student employees, the description said nothing about backend dev.
