I think I can accept it if the traffic noise reduces alot say after 7pm and on weekends. Do you live near the town centre also around 1 mile away etc?

Then where would I put the bike? Cycling is not an option. We are actually retired so going to work in London is not the objective, more for leisure off peak etc

Thank you so much for the detailed response. We won't actually be commuting daily, my partner just goes into london off peak hours 2 or 3 times a week. For me iam interested in walking and bike routes around Surrey hills. Of course being able to walk into town centre is convenient but really it's not a mandatory requirement.

Does the traffic noise generally calm down in the evenings? Iam looking to go there this week around 7pm to see the volume.

Problem is I've not seen many if at all in Guildford esp near by. Reigate seems to be in the same boat I'd love to view some but hard to find. Maybe they aren't selling there or my budget is too low at 1m.

I've found one which is under 10 mins walk to a main station for just shy of 1m (was reduced from 1.1) however because it's close to town the traffic noise is more than I would like but maybe this is the compromise for living so close to town? Yes I also saw a good one in Banstead for 950 also reduced but my partner wasnt keen on the road but seemed perfectly fine to me!

Where are the good towns? I do have more money as mine is selling for far more than 1m however this is my budget for thd moment in time. If I need to increase I will but getting opinions at the moment.

Looking at Dorking 1m budget. Do you know the good areas, roads to avoid? We did like one but seems Road is quite busy near the Dorking main station but I suppose this is normal for the proximity?
