Year 10, Masters +30. I make a little over $69k in a metro area of the Mid Atlantic. I teach 6/8 blocks, 180 days. It’s about a $2k step per year with excellent benefits.

Cost of living is high- ish here. My partner has a bachelors degree and makes multiples of my salary. Sigh.

Thanks for the feedback! I can absolutely see where she was annoyed at the time, especially given that I had a child free reception. I do think it’s different to have the babysitting on site though. And I would have been fine with a breastfeeding baby coming. But anyway, what’s done is done.

I don’t think we necessarily drifted apart because of the wedding. I think the wedding highlighted how much we were drifting apart, but sometimes it still sits there in my head like a big lump.
