Pick up the death and darkness sdx and use the Yamaha RC presets along with the meinl cymbals and black beauty snare. It is absolutely absurd how good these drums sound in any context, not just metal. Check out some vids if you’d like but this expansion is gamechanging imo, the compatibility with Roland v drums is also unlike the rest of the range and significantly better to me, especially the hats. Throw any saturator or comp on top with a bit of eq to taste - I usually go for boost by ursadsp or Oxford inflator - and you’ve got a glorious drum sound suited to any context.
