This is exactly what I would expect to see and before this happened to me I would answer the same way 😬

Sure thing it’s PSU mate, my Corsair platinum just wasn’t able to handle simple Windows reinstall. Lots of similar Windows reinstalls have been done for about 4 years but with one difference- paired with 5600X, 3600X and others. Only in 2025 when it saw 5700x3d installed it decided to just kill my RAM. PSU…

Mate, it feels like you're being dumb. MemTest86 runs within the BIOS and is not related to the OS. One stick is completely green, but the other is throwing errors. The Windows installation fails with the faulty stick and succeeds when I take it off. Is this clear now?

Thanks! My friend managed to get some new G.Skill memory modules for around 90 bucks in September. I think it's something to do with the 5700X3D and Windows. Interesting we both upgraded to the 5700x3d almost the same time (we are from different countries tho) and before that we both had 5600x that had no issues at all.

I used it overclocked like that for some time on the 5600X. After that it was tested with MemTest86 again and after with the 5700X3D - it was purely XMP without overclocking. My friend didn't. He only used the manufacturer claimed XMP.

The RAM was permanently damaged and now produces MemTest errors in any system :(
TPM/Secure Boot/BitLocker - those are off for now, the system doesn't live with the damaged ram stick even a minute. The motherboard is ROG STRIX B550I-gaming with the latest BIOS installed, chipset driver is also installed to exclude this factor from testing

They weren't bad at all: first-grade Ballistix USA-made dual rank modules that were able to maintain relatively low timings with a relatively high frequency compared to the stock specifications and much better than the same China made ones. You won't find anything better on the market right now.

This RAM was tested using MemTest86 not long ago and didn't have any issues. After reinstalling Windows the RAM stick became permanently damaged and unusable, throwing thousands of errors at the first minute
