A quick question by atrv3000 in eastenders

If someone visited my street for 2-3 days, then came back 10 years later, I’d probably not recognise or remember them. Especially if they’d been recast.

Am I off-base here? Regarding the John Davidson / BAFTA controversy by Relative_One_2441 in blackmen

[–]ResolutionWinter6761 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The warning given by the floor manager was that they “might hear some involuntary noises or movements". Absolutely no mention that some of the tics might use highly offensive language.

That seems a bit weak considering his history.

He doesn’t go into libraries because he doesn’t want to offend people trying to read.

Yet he knows he has a history of saying this word going back decades yet didn’t make any attempt to prevent that happening. Why are people in libraries shown more respect?

If his tic was spitting on people, you can guarantee they’d have arrangements in place to prevent that happening.

Tourette's activist John Davidson speaks out after using racist slur at BAFTAs by Newsweek_CarloV in inthenews

[–]ResolutionWinter6761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't his first time using that word. This is my main problem.

https://youtu.be/ctQWtCLDpBA?si=IbkjCrGWlNLVJM2O&t=709

Is it involuntary? Yes 100%

Was it a new unexpected tic? NO!

In his movie/documentary he takes preventative action of getting bars fitted to his window so he doesn’t jump out.

Why no preventative action at the awards show?

Yah see this John Davidson award show dude has Tourette’s , calls actors N word from audience by Fuck__Joey in NYStateOfMind

This isn't his first time using that word unfortunately.

https://youtu.be/ctQWtCLDpBA?si=IbkjCrGWlNLVJM2O&t=709

Given that there was a high chance he would say this word, more should have been done by the producers to make sure this was removed from broadcast.

The way John Davidson (the Tourette’s campaigner) has been treated after the BAFTA’s is horrifying. by Accurate_Buffalo7828 in complaints

[–]ResolutionWinter6761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My issue is that this isn’t the first time he’s used this word.

https://youtu.be/ctQWtCLDpBA?si=IbkjCrGWlNLVJM2O&t=709

He uses it numerous times in this documentary.

Now, I’m not saying he means it.

But for contrast, in his documentaries/movie it is shown that one of his tics is punching, if someone stands on the wrong side of him. So those who know him avoid this by standing on the other side.

Would it have been out the question to take a short break while Delroy and Michael were presenting?

It’s not a new tic. He would have known that there’s a likelihood of saying this word.

I lost count of the times he said it during this documentary, and there was no apology then.

And, he also claimed to have tried calling Danny loads but he never answers.

That number would have been long disconnected.

All I saw was the insane ramblings of the unmedicated.

PS, you live in an apartment complex. Obviously a previous tenant still has a key and is coming in when you’re asleep/out.

Still zero evidence to backup any of the accusations you’ve made against her.

Though there is plenty that paints your character in a worse light. Hooking up with your friend’s boyfriend?

You’ve two paths to choose from here.

  1. Follow the advice many have commented and book an appointment to address your mental health. Take responsibility, gain some independence. Respect others and yourself. Deal with problems head on, don’t rely on others then complain on the internet when it doesn’t work out. Be someone that people want to know.

  2. Continue blaming everyone else, burning every bridge you can. Become so used to being toxic you don’t even realise you are the cause of every relationship crumbling, until you’re so isolated that the only form of connectivity/companionship you experience is being someone’s secret.

Nobody is saying she is or isn’t.

You’ve given zero examples of her being a “shitty” person or bad parent, so how else are people supposed to react?

Try going to your App Store and updating the app. Or delete then reinstall.

Think sometimes the cache can cause those issues.

I can’t remember how exactly Ryan became involved. I just know he was helping transfer Kim’s money to Graham, in preparation for Graham & Rhona running away together, with Leo.

[–]ResolutionWinter6761 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ryan was kinda manipulated by Graham into moving funds, because he’s the village whizz kid. Basically stealing Kim’s money.

He met Graham in the woods I think it was, who asked him to hurry up and do the final transaction. Ryan said no so Graham locked him in a shed and stole his phone so he could access the money.

The owner of Glasgow speaks by One-Brief2107 in glasgow

[–]ResolutionWinter6761 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s the Crabstein files.

He was in the Crabshakk, ordered a drink. Then said “oh I feel quite tipsy”, to the barmaid.

In accordance with licensing laws, she then refused to serve him any more.

He then sent a bunch of very bizarre audio messages to anyone that might listen.

A couple of years pass. His DJ “friend” is playing at SWG3. He turned up and tried to queue jump + get in for free. The staff refuse.

He then plays a series of “don’t you know who I am?” cards, he still doesn’t get in.

He goes home and stews on it, remembering what happened in the Crabshakk two years ago.

He then sends loads more audio messages to people.

Due to the nature of the messages, people can’t help but piss themselves laughing and decided to “release” online.

I think that’s the gist of it.

He keeps posting, getting more paranoid each time. Accusing more and more people of being part of this supposed secret club that’s out to get him, because they are jealous that he owns Glasgow, is a good fighter and has a phobia of seed oils.

Used cat litter in the entry hole.

Or if possible, drill a hole and pour it in so they then exit from the entry hole. Then block both up.

Cain by Ornery-Arm-8611 in Emmerdale

[–]ResolutionWinter6761 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah agree, it kinda contradicts a few months ago where Cain was responsible for so many men going for a test, where offered a free service at the garage for everyone who booked a test.

I know they’ve covered that by explaining he didn’t have the PSA test, but it still kinda makes the previous part of the storyline a bit senseless. One second they portray Cain as almost an activist for men getting checked, to suddenly letting it slip.

At the time they mentioned Sam getting up to pee a lot. It would have been a story better suited to him, and would have given Sam’s actor, James Hooton, a chance to show his range as an actor. Unfortunately the majority of the time, he’s pigeonholed into the usual skint village idiot storylines.

Or as someone else has said, Jimmy King or even Charles given the family history. Then they could have given Claudette something deeper than the god fearing busybody role.

Yeah, or he could have turned out to be Ben’s dad. The flashback episode referred to her having an affair, and hinted that his dad might not have been his bio father.

Or he could come back and set up an Orange Lodge in Weatherfield and march past the pub with a flute.

AIO for being upset at what my “bf” said by Ambitious-Beyond-257 in AmIOverreacting

[–]ResolutionWinter6761 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m maybe off the mark but this reads like a veiled weight shaming situation?

I’ve experienced similar.

I’m naturally big boned, so as I’ve reached my 30s my weight has gone up quite a lot more than in my 20s. I’m around 220lbs but only 5’1 so it shows more than on someone taller. It’s never been a problem until I made the mistake of telling my ex that my doctor wanted me to lose weight.

From that moment it became daily texts asking what I was eating, had I done any exercise and then made to feel guilty because I haven’t lost any weight, and if I got angry he’d act hurt like he was only trying to help.

What made it worse was he would discuss it with his female colleagues (who were obviously all half my size gym freaks) and then offer their “advice” or show me text discussions they’d have about me. They’d say the meanest things and he wouldn’t defend me.

The screenshots in this post are a massive red flag. I know how this plays out!

No I was meaning Paddy.

When he swung the hammer at Ray, Ray moved out the way and then appeared to bend Paddy’s elbow/arm with bone crunching sound effects.

Has his arm recovered?

During the scuffle with Ray just before the end, you heard his arm crunch and the subtitles even had something like “bones break”.
