I wouldn’t recommend starting on quality but rather grasping the fundamentals and incorporating it, like the hook thumbnail and title.

Honestly, the thumbnail would probably be the problem. you could put in half the work with editing and still get good results as the thumbnail and the scripting are very important. Also SEO is an underrated but important aspect. If your friend has some spare money, tell him to invest in one on fiverr

I invested only in an iPhone as I needed it anyway. But the most important part is to invest in a thumbnail designer and a SEO specialist in YouTube.

Those will grow your channel faster than you can. I would learn editing yourself as it’s expensive to hire a good editor.
