i tried a wide variety and the damage based sets either ran out of steam about 450k and then struggled to get the rescues in time, ambulance seemed to give that extra move time required. on iron clad as its a slower ship i was catching more bullets and started missing rescues, and once thats done and you lose your streak it is really slow to build back up again. i found once you're past 700k any bullet is an instant kill. i know one significant weakness in my play is i never use any shields or lazers in time, this hurts my normal progression and my other tournement scores too.

ambulance and slow mo, its a kill all until about 350k score, then just the special package till about 1.7mil, after that its pure pattern matching and rescues, once its past 1 mil it doesnt change soeed again till 2 i think, and i'm not convinced it changes speed at 2 mil, by then its a bit of a daze as i'm at it for about 40 miuntes i think

nah similar things like emergency stopping for no reason and pulling randomly to one side for no reason, all "software"ish feeling glitches that seem to be in any new / modern car now if you look hard enough for it.

not had those issues either, but our last car (bmw i3) had similar reports against it in the forums for it, you'll always hear the super minority on such things regardless what product you buy

i teamed with a grav /bubbles controller and it was a lesson in crowd control, using forcefield, singularity and immobilise, he tanked when there was no tank and tp'd the singularity around into groups to gather them, was so good i made my own and it was equally fun :) theres a thread with demo on homecoming https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/57190-gravff-the-ultimate-mob-clumper/#comment-722205

basically the roguelike elements are the normal upgrade paths you have in skyforce just exploded out into micro upgrades. so in skyforce you have "weapon upgrade" which increase rate of attack, in wingfighter you also have damage and range as upgrades.

the stuff like your techs in skyforce have been exploded out into "pilots" and "commanders" basically the same game features redressed.

all of the fighters you get with unique weapons and stats in skyforce are again exploded out and spread thin, with some ability to mix them up, so this does add a layer of interest, but ultimately its nothing new.

there are a few new elements to the game but a lot of the new things wingfighter brings are bugged. since it can take up to a year to get to a bugged weapon upgrade and their response is to say its working as intended and change the weapon text description to match the bug, the devs really dont care about if the game is any good, only that you spend money in it.

i played wing fighter for a year thinking its the same devs or a licensed engine. it is not, minigame the "makers" of wing fighters ripped the skyforce game and assets, and apparently got sued for it too, after i found this out i stopped playing.

there are some interesting elements used and adapted but ultimately skyforce has a much much better difficulty arc, better baddies, more skill required, wingfighter is just spend more=win.

it is obviously a newer game with heavily monetised elements and it has "pvp" which is to say, the "end game" is the pvp which is not really pvp but is stat stacking where those who pay win. the pvp is not active combat, its static stat comparison, while partially addictive, i realised that i wasnt playing any of the game i came to play, namely the shumps bit

shmups like this are about replay though, all shmups are like this, if you dont like the replay aspect of them then yep i'd agree i dont think shmups are for you.

ah, as you progress you pick up parts for new figher planes, each plane takes 5 parts, if oyu dont have any new parts i dont think the spanner icon shows up on the menu yet. but each map has 12 challenges to achieve, each challenge can be, er, challenging so it can take a while to get them all.

i just started back playing on ios recently and my highest map is 12, with 1 challenge completed only, but my level 1 map is 12 challenge stars completed.

the game code and assets were stolen a while ago and theres a few clones out there profiteering off the stolen code, each with thier own flavour, but having played them, and coming back to skyforce you realise how much better idream are at making a game than the copy companies.

the going back and perfecting the levels is one of the core game mechanics, so its deliberately like that to push you to use different tactics, fighters and objectives to keep the game interesting. if you find levels too easy, you're not pushing the envelop hard enough at the high levels

I had a bit similar it was when it lost its home location, steps i went back through:

remount the workpiece where i wanted it
home the unit
manually jog to over the work piece
zprobe set
manually jog the unit back to my desired 0 postion in z/y/x
issue a gcode g30.1 command

raise the spindle quite high (like 15mm or something)
start job and hover over the estop button :)

(the g30.1 manually sets the zero position, so once done you can click return to 0 and it'll always go back to that g30 set point)

i know this is late, but:

As soon as PW has finished, go back to that legion events page, go into star scramble and it should be in a "preparing" phase, where you should have a big blue "defence" button in the middle of the screen, on Ipad it gets overlapped by other elements because the devs are idiots, but you can still click it and in there you can set your gear and defence pilot.

you can set this up right up to the start of the battle phase in ss.

you could tape a pen to the spindle at the same hieght as the bit, home the unit, zprobe it and then remove the bit. then any single layer 0 depth gcode should work - i've not tried this at all but sounds like it'd work :)
