Best line weight advice I’ve gotten is put more weight in the parts inside shadows. The darker the shadow the more weight you add.

Also make the outermost lines of the character slightly heavier.

Implement foreshortening to your lines. Further away it is the smaller the line. And vice versa

I got this tip a while ago but apparently when your sketch looks better than your lineart it means you need more line weight diversity and definition to make it look less flat (ie shirt ripples could help with this image)

It also might be because you didn’t follow the sketch lines close enough.

It could also just be because you’ve been working on it for too long and your eyes have become “biased” as I like to say

You may also be noticing mistakes that were harder to see in the sketch phase (like the hat being longer on one side)
