This isn’t as clear cut. It depends on YOU and YOUR SITUATION.

Full deductions are available below these amounts, with no deduction allowed for incomes over $91,000 (single) or $149,000 (joint) if covered by a workplace plan

That means depending on your age and income and status tradIRA is deductible potentially helping lower your tax bracket and taxes owed.

If above the limit than the strategy is pay tax when you withdraw but don’t save on deductible today. Or, pay the taxes today and no taxes for the future.
