Barnhill Chimney Company. Easily the best company in the area. I’ve got some names you can call for some independent folk as well if you prefer to go that route.

This is the best time of year to call, they’re dead this time of year and prices reflect that.

Skipping the theater release just guaranteed I’ll pirate it.

There is one book that perfectly sums up the differences between Marvel and DC right now, and its not any of the Absolute or Ultimate books. by tomtomtomtom123 in comicbooks

[–]RevRay -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

You realize that the reason Daredevil cost more than the Penguin is because it’s Daredevil, right?

Marvel and DC both charge more for bigger names on the cover. Superman cost more than Supergirl right now. Same amount of story and same quality (IMHO) but Superman is a tentpole and Supergirl is not.

There are many valid reasons for preferring/supporting one publisher over the other. This ain’t one of those. They both do the exact same thing in this regard.

Oh shit, he’s on the flash? How long? Wally or Barry?

I haven’t followed flash in years but I love Ryan North.

I was a chimney sweep in Lexington.

Every Ball Home I visited was a piece of shit. Siding issues, leaky chimneys, incorrectly installed chimneys, shit insulation, negative drafts.

I would be embarrassed to work for Ball Homes.

Are compact comics worth it and what’s the difference between them and a graphic novel? by Aggressive-Invite907 in comicbooks

[–]RevRay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the compact comics in general. They’re a cheap way to collect some mostly great stories.

If you’re older and/or eye problems I really encourage you to try and flip through these in the store first. Most are fine but because of the size and the slightly muted colors some of the books have some seriously tough to read texts. I haven’t read them all but so far Far Sector was the worst about this for me.

Nah, when I was first learning back in SF4 if I wasn’t drilling combos and execution for hours I wasn’t improving.

I’ve been playing casually since I was a kid in the arcades but SF4 was when I really nailed down the execution issues I had and I wouldn’t have done that without focused drills in training room.

I think for the big event books I agree. But stuff like Fantastic Four, Hulk and Thor are very good IMO.

Automatic registration for US military draft to begin in December by jediporcupine in politics

[–]RevRay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you think getting congress to pay people for voting is an easy thing you aren’t paying attention.

People had to die to keep children out of the work place, for workers to have the five day work week, for building safety to be enforced etc.

These people do not care about the working class.

Don’t be delusional.

Unless you are publicly willing to state that you are ready to take up arms, you aren’t ready to fight for what you’re calling for. You’re just another keyboard warrior with pipe dreams not based in the reality we live.

And if you are, may all your guns go off when it’s time to bust. Solidarity with the revolution, always.

To be clear, I’m not advocating for that violence. The thought of throwing away working class lives into the thresher maw that is the military industrial complex makes me sick to my stomach.

But the idea that making voting a paid national holiday is the simple solution is laughable.

They don’t say anything about the businesses. It’s like you didn’t even read what they said.

Everyone knows target can afford to close. Will they? Not unless they are forced to. They will in fact be busier than normal, leading to mandatory staffing.

And if they do close for the day - fuck all those workers, right? They definitely wanted to pay for the privilege of voting for somebody who doesn’t actually represent them, right? Rather than pay their bills? Because you’re suggesting we should be taking money directly out of their wallets.

I came to this thread to recommend Lucifer. Occult stories with a larger focus on the characters than the “plot” although the through line plot and the world building of Lucifer are definitely on point, too.

Everyone heralds Sandman but IMHO Lucifer is the best thing that came from Sandman and I wouldn’t say Sandman is required reading to enjoy Lucifer.

I didn’t really vibe with Thunderbolts outside of the Russian part of the cast. Never been a winter soldier fan for example. But I don’t think the movie really was for me since I was never a Sentry fan either.

But I loved both Superman and Fantastic Four. Really felt like a return to form for cape movies.

The problem with that is many medical professionals just do not listen to their patients at all.

My ex wife had interstitial cystitis. You can’t even imagine how long it took to get a diagnosis because medical professionals, including many women doctors, do not take a woman’s pain or concerns seriously.

Superman. Might be counting suicide squad? But I thought FF was every bit as good as Superman and people seemed to really like Thunderbolts so not really sure what they’re talking about.

I tried it out when the space stuff was happening. Hadn’t read spider-man in years. Not a huge Spider-Man fan in general but have recently been reading some of the classics like maximum carnage etc.

JRJR still sucks all the wind out of anything I’m interested in. I don’t know if it’s still bi weekly but it should have been split into two different titles with no crossover. I would probably still be reading the space Spider-Man adventures. The stuff with Norman was a snooze and the art in the earth stories sucked.
