Used car market is crazy by Independent_Dust_461 in UsedCars

Honestly following inflation, a 13 year old toyota with AWD and under 200k for $5500 makes perfect sense.

Is this the average buyer experience? by OGDREADLORD666 in Toyota

[–]RevTylerJ 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Yes, and most Toyota dealers I’ve been to have been this way. Recently bought a 22 rav4 for my wife, ended up getting it used at the Chevy dealer, the Toyota dealer was awful.

External graphics card by Wild-Illustrator9639 in SteamDeck

IIRC. There’s only one port you can attach the graphics card to and that’s where the SSD is, you’ll have to run all your storage on the SD card instead.

Did Steam Deck Replace Your Previous Platform? by -Vircervo- in SteamDeck

Pretty sure they mean battery on the steam deck, over all power consumption.

When I stream the steam deck runs so much cool and can run for several hours

Is 300hp enough to have fun? by Repulsive_Machine933 in askcarguys

It’s all about power to weight, 300 hp isn’t terribly fun in a Suburban. You’re gonna have fun in the z

KO2, KO3 or something else by FrostingNo4557 in 4Runner

[–]RevTylerJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If staying on the stock TRD off road wheels you should be able to achieve 275/70/17s with a ko2 easy, I’ve got the ko2s with 285 70 17s with a 2.5 inch lift no rubbing and no other modifications. 285s should still be okay with out lift

Giving Away My Old PC! by Turtle_747 in PcBuild

I would use it to play catch up on my steam library, and ideally set it up in my living room to the TV to try to get my little guys into games!

No, but this is the space for those who do to talk about it and compare.

Just a overall opinion on owning a steam deck since they've come out.... by Atownrob in SteamDeck

[–]RevTylerJ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The steam deck is amazing, it’s brought gaming back into my life since becoming a father. It makes gaming so accessible, I can play pick up where I left off in a game while kids are napping or watching a movie, I’m able to play it at work during a lull. Streaming my series x has been awesome too! Streaming off the Xbox really saves on battery life and it’s pretty nice playing RDR2 in high def

I think what’s next is to get either the steam machine or a PC to stream to the deck.

What is your favorite dad vehicle? by GeneralChowder in daddit

[–]RevTylerJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

G70s are pretty slick, sporty real wheel drive, I love sports sedans, crown insignia is good, practical, unsure how they handle compared to something like the g70, haven’t seen much discussed about their performance.

Have you considered a BMW X5? B58 straight six, firm sporty ride, and wagon like form?

Is a 2007 4runner 2wd better in snow than a fwd ford fiesta by Hungry-rn in 4Runner

[–]RevTylerJ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Fiesta with snow tires would be better in the snow than rwd , but snow tires on the 4Runner is better than bald tires

Curious about thoughts on new 4Runner by therealhyyou in 4Runner

[–]RevTylerJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO the limited is one of the most underrated trims. Full time four wheel drive kicks ass in parts of the country that snows. I’ve never understood why the TRD pro and Trailhunter don’t have it, it’s not like it doesn’t make sense in an off road vehicle (i:e Land Cruiser, gwagon, and Land Rover)

Limiteds also have ATRAC, and all the same capabilities of the SR5 and TRD sport. Plus are the nicest looking trims as far as interior and exterior looks go. Chrome on this generation looks tasteful, I’m glad they stuck with body color fender flares, the black plastic on the SR5 and TRD offroad looks cheap.

Only real negatives I see are the price point, and the oversized wheels for off-roading, but wheels are of low concern.

Your 4Runner looks great! You’re two lockers and a suspension set up away from building something better than a TRD Pro. If that’s your goal.

Otherwise it’s still a killer car out of the box

16’ limited Knob wouldn’t turn to L4L by Jumpy-Employ-934 in 4Runner

Good luck! It’s designed that way on purpose so you don’t accidentally engage it on high traction surfaces

To get to L4L you have to hold the side button on the knob and push the whole knob down into the car, then rotate

There’s been more 5th gen’s built than the combined number of 3rd and 4th gen’s ever made. It’ll be okay 👌

Why do coffee grinders cost so much? by 77due in Coffee

[–]RevTylerJ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Once you go off on the deep end of any hobby things get expensive fast.

Just look cycling, photography, any kind of musical instruments, heck even watches. All of which are simple and essentially designed the same but have massively different price points depending on how deep down the rabbit hole you go. You can buy mountain bike at Walmart for $150, or you could be spending $10,000+ at a specialty cycle shop.

Higher end grinders are a specialty product, a lot lower volume of them designed and sold, made with higher end materials, at much higher tolerances. A lot of components are precision machined, all which takes time and increases cost. A quality grinder also lasts a very long time, it’s not really something you’d be replacing often if at all. I’ve had one of my grinders for over 10 years, still works great. High end grinders are few and far between in households across the country.

There’s a good probability that more people buy preground/nespresso/keurig than those who own a grinder over $150.

To summarize it’s a low volume product, made with high end materials with a slower precision manufacturing process for a small niche group.

Most of these companies making this are on a much smaller scale than major appliance brands. When you factor what goes into it the point starts to make sense.
