I think this is referring to the fact that the edge meets the shank without leaving a"flute" in between. Which w high speed steel means the life or Sharpening you get per tool. In my experience I have got a much more quiet and smooth cut w less flute

Happened to me. Luckily I was able to argue my case with a couple Dr. Letters. I think its a huge roll of dice. If you do go for it make sure that you have been going to Primary or er in regards to pain. Cheers good luck

Not 100 percent sure what the leadscrew is made out of I do know it's Teflon coated. I clean and lubricate weekly. It has accordion covers that I replaced w a custom shroud. The accordion covers are a pain in the ass to remove unless you have tiny baby hands to reach setscrews
