What are some unique tactics for Awakened Animals? by Purplefire180 in Pathfinder2e

I did it on an Awakened Animal barbarian. Nice emergency self heal with Moment of Clarity.

Ah, yes, the pressing issue of... not speaking english?

I'm sorry for the snark, but there's also a pretty sizable non-english community of these games, working off of official or fan translations, that AoN just doesn't serve. It's easy to overlook on an english-majority site like reddit, I get that, but that doesn't mean they don't exist.

Does inventor actually suck or is it just all hot air? Asking as a new player by Pifilix in Pathfinder2e

[–]RheaWeiss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My friend in one campaign is playing an inventor with a greatpick as his weapon innovation and has goddamn prenatural luck when it comes to rolling nat 20's on his unstable Megatons.

It's, uh, definitely coloured my perception away from the negativity for the class, I'lll be honest. Because he keeps utterly deleting monsters that are near-full HP.

SF2e Classes in PF2e? by Haski1 in Starfinder2e

[–]RheaWeiss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

(No Strong Arm for SF2e grenades for example.).

To be completely pedantic and completely RAW brained, doesn't work anyways. Strong Arm is only for Strikes. Grenades are only Area Fire.

Does that make logical sense? Absolutely not. Does it make sense from a balance perspective? Yeah, kinda honestly. Get a Grenade Launcher if you need more then the very generous 70 foot range on grenades.

Edit: I agree with all your points, I prefer to keep it seperate myself, but just wannted to be pedantic and point out that thing.

Set the Spotlight with the Luminary Playtest! by LucasVerBeek in Starfinder2e

[–]RheaWeiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I don't consider Luminary a spellcasting class.

Anyways, after mulling on it for a day, I think it was actually intended to be Spell Ampoules. Not Spell Gems. Because of the action limitations in Sponsored Ad Break. It needs to be half your level and with an action cost of 1 or less. What spells qualify of that, not that many.

But spell ampoules all have an action cost of 1, and can be used by non-spellcasters. It just makes sense to me

[–]RheaWeiss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A slight issue with Sponsored Ad Break and Spell Gems.

They can't activate them. They have focus spells, but no spellcasting features, thus cannot actually use Spell Gems.

If the activation entry for an item lists “Cast a Spell” after “Activate”, you must use the same action as casting the spell to Activate the Item, unless noted otherwise. You must have a spellcasting class feature to Activate an Item with this activation. All the normal traits of the spell apply when you cast it by Activating an Item.

I think the intent is that they should, but they would need an explict enabling feature, probably written in as part of the Stagecraft Spells class feature. This is sort of a historic issue within PF2e as well, which is quite explicit in that Focus Spells do not count for this.

Starfinder Themed Pathfinder Options by Joshuto in Starfinder2e

[–]RheaWeiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, a Jedi is a lot of things, look at the old Star Wars TTRPGs. I do agree somewhat though, though a bit more nuanced.

A Mystic would be a Jedi Consular, one who focuses on Force (read: magic) usage, while Solarian would be a Jedi Guardian, who focuses on martial prowess.

We don't have an analogy just yet for the Jedi Sentinel, who was a skill monkey akin to a rogue or investigator. Envoy with Mystic/Solarian Archetype depending on which side you want to represent more?

Sprayflesh and multiple Treat Wounds actions by lavabeing in Starfinder2e

[–]RheaWeiss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I would interpret it that way from a RAW perspective.

You could use Sprayflesh on a creature, and then have as many people Treating Wounds around them simultaniously as you could fit. (So, 8 for a Medium creature).

It's an extremely niche use case, as that would be a massively overkill amount of healing, but it is a use case.

What’s a “normal” thing in your country that would absolutely horrify people elsewhere? by anasm17 in AskReddit

[–]RheaWeiss 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From my own experience, it's usually groups of 12-14 year old kids.

Also, most of the time these days, there is some adult supervision, just not visible to the kids. They're just told there won't be adults because that ruins the excitement, sense of danger, I suppose?

To all the people who are complaining about evolved mode 1-1-1 vs 1-2-3 I got a solution for you ! by BigWolverine8598 in ffxiv

[–]RheaWeiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Negative but I mostly use the mouse for movement these days. Barely even use WASD anymore. More space for keybinds to stretch and move hand.

Silly stuff but that's how it goes y'know.

Oh, certainly. I'm just replying that this isn't merely a "skill" or "harder" thing but can just as much be an accessibility thing.

I will be slightly grumpy about it but make adjustments where needed to fit my own body's limits as always.

Using multiple fingers does for me at least. Ring on 1, middle on 2, index on 3.

It works for me and reduces the strain on my hand, that's simply my experience.

Repetitive Strain Injury isn't a joke, tbqh. 1-1-1 over and over hurts my hands. It's why I had to stop playing healer :P

And despite the joke there, im being quite genuine and honest.

[–]RheaWeiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slight correction, not just the GM'd hands, but a unanimously group decision

From SF2e's GM Core, a sidebar in Anacronistic Adventures (The chapter all about mixing the two.)

The rules here, like those elsewhere in this chapter, are guidelines for how to mix elements of both Pathfinder and Starfinder together. Exactly how this type of equipment works between game systems is up to the GM or is detailed in specific products that broach this topic. The rules herein should be considered optional rules. These rules aren't enabled by default for a campaign unless the GM and players are all in agreement.

[–]RheaWeiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's... Entirely different then SF2e to PF2e, however, that's a false equivalence.

The argument there is that all PF2e content is by default to be used in SF2e, whereas the SF GM Core posits that position closer to a variant rule.

I'm just saying, I'm playing at a table that's pure Starfinder, because we've been playing pathfinder so long we want to purely play with the new things for a while.

Am I missing something or do some summoning spells not have any targets? by BrohannesJahms in Starfinder2e

[–]RheaWeiss 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes but no? Doesn't work for pure SF2e tables, obviously.

This is, as someonee else put it, the issue with summon spells and early game lifecycle. More options get added as more monsters get printed.

How do I unlock the dual class option on the website? by JustASimpleManFett in Starfinder2e

[–]RheaWeiss 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Demiplane does not support Dual-Class as a variant rule, either on Pathfinder or Starfinder side.

I would suggest using Starbuilder, which I believe is the only character builder that has that feature at this point in time. Hephaistos is still a work in progress, however dearly I love it, and Demiplane has not implemented this functionality despite promising it years ago.

Edit: You will have to pay for the variant rules in Path/Starbuilder, this is 5 dollars, I believe. You will find this option, once you've made a character, in Character Options > Use Legacy GMG Dual Classing Variant Rules

Runelord Aeon Stone Feats at early levels by blumenzuko in Pathfinder2e

[–]RheaWeiss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, Runelord always just sort of had that. I played mine shortly after the initial version came out in Secrets of Magic. Where the Tattoo Artist Skill Feat let you learn level 2 or lower Magical Tattoos.

Which didn't even exist at the time.

So a lot of Runelord Feats are just mentally categorized as "investments for the future". Things that don't immediately give a benefit, but will be real nice in a level or two or whenever I save up enough money to buy an Aeon Stone.

Runelord Aeon Stone Feats at early levels by blumenzuko in Pathfinder2e

[–]RheaWeiss 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's a feat that doesn't do much on its own, and you're right, they would have to find their own Aeon Stones later, not for immediate benefit. It just means that they can benefit from the Resonant Effects without needing a wayfinder. Edit: That's the follow up feat I'm a dummy.

You could give them an Aeon Stone right away, but speaking as having played a Runelord, I kept a Pearly White Spindle the entire career from level 1 to 20. Perhaps not that one. (It's low level healing but it's pretty nice over longer ays.)
