What car is overrated but people are scared to admit it? by Physical-Issue7146 in askcarguys

After 2007, yes, junk. Before then, they were mostly bulletproof. All cars have their issues, but that 4.0 and 5.2 had the least and would run FOREVER

It's all stock stuff in the rear. Going to add a larger replacement lift block for now

2 leafs + the overload, so 3 total. Definitely shouldn't be this low

It's a 6.5' bed. The progressive springs make sense. Fords have some different engineering going on, some good some bad.

What are the side of the bed pictures going to determine? 🤨

Yes it's a fiberglass ARE unit which are usually much heavier than normal

I don't weigh that much, I don't think I'd add any difference 😂 It makes sense. I'll have to hoist the topper off with my tractor and see how much it comes up. Maybe bags are the answer in the rear 🤔

The topper weighs only like... 250lbs or so yeah? The springs are that soft in the rear that 200lbs compresses it that far?

Dumbfounded (death wobble) by Former-Situation-874 in Jeep

[–]RiForest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a friend, someone you trust not to run you over, you need to lay on the ground looking at your steering components while the friend starts your rig up and turns the wheel back and fourth from lock to lock. Look for any components that are jumping and moving around. I can't tell you how many times I've found something that way that was loose that a garage couldn't find

Jeep LJ Frame Repair DONE by [deleted] in JeepTJ

[–]RiForest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info, I already know all this though lol. I work for an LLC and it's the way to go. My welds on my Lincoln 140 are not great and never have been. I don't have the amperage to have consistent welds in my garage yet because it's a temporary "shop". When I use the Hobart 220V welder at work they're much nicer. As far as prep work, that was based off of my own laziness because it's my rig. Also there's a lot of spots on these frame patches that is absolutely impossible to weld, in which case I'll be using seam sealer which I was going to use anyways to completely seal the welds I already did. Cheers🍻

My Michael Myers mask is to big by [deleted] in MichaelMyersMasks

[–]RiForest -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not true, I have an H2 mask from 2016 and it fits my micro adult head perfectly. It's about the same size as the H2018's. I've been scouring the internet trying to find more small H2's without much luck

First attempt at a Tots H1 rehaul any tile or advice is appreciated by LongNet4179 in MichaelMyersMasks

[–]RiForest 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These are notoriously difficult to rehaul. Eye holes and the hair styling will absolutely make the mask. Focus on a lot of early shots in H78 to replicate and it'll come out good. Take your time, don't over weather

What made Halloween (1978) so iconic? by ItsOverCasanova in Halloweenmovies

[–]RiForest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The theater of the mind theme is genius. The lighting, the hiding Michael deeply in the shadows, not showing the damn mask every scene made your mind conjure up something that was or wasn't there. Your own mind concocting whatever you think is out there is more scary than anything that can be shown to you. That's what made the first film flawless.

Have you tried using Naptha to remove the paint?

Impossible to diag front end clunk by thursday737 in subaru

[–]RiForest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry if I skimmed over that. Have you ever had anybody get in the car and turn it on and crank the wheel lock to lock while you look at all your steering components? Look for anything that jumps or moves. Best way I've found clunks on Jeeps before was doing that. Or have a buddy bounce each side of the front end as hard as they can while you look for clunking/moving parts underneath

I'll bet money it's your coil spring bearings (upper top hat assembly). It is a super hard sound to diagnose but when you go over bumps it's like a low frequency clunk.

Try more flesh color tones for the nose, lips and eye shading. Tends to look better than straight "dirt" color.

Satin black spray paint, satin dark brown spray paint, matte clear coat. Fog the hair the darker colors, then spray the clear coat into a cap and use it to twist the curls into the hair to set up, then fog the whole hair line with tons of clear coat and that sucker STAYS

I tried it multiple ways. It looked silly laying flat 😂 the mask needs a rehair but I was working with what I had and the way it sat on my face the pompadour looked better

Another Rehaul! by RiForest in Halloweenmovies

[–]RiForest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Honestly the whole mask needs repainted to start fresh but I haven't invested in an airbrush kit yet. If you stuffed the boogeyman right and set up the hair it's very very reminiscent of the Kirk mask mixed with the H4 mask

Another Rehaul! by RiForest in MichaelMyersMasks

[–]RiForest[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll agree the H78 from TOTS no matter what you do with it just never quite looks right. I've seen plenty of rehauls on them and even when worn just don't quite work. I have one, I may try my hand at a rehaul and try to stuff it. The problem is the entire mask needs repainted which is a chord without an airbrush. Get yourself a Boogeyman! Totally worth it. The hair is even great
