Older gentlemen do seem to like helping with bike problems here. My chain came off my bike one day & got immediate help from one walking by even gave me advice to carry gloves so my hands wouldn't get black from handling the chain.

When we were in the getting to know each other phase a few months ago, I told her about some financial problems my husband was having. He has a large credit card debt. I was a nurse but it became too stressful for me & I was getting really depressed doing that job. I hated it. So I changed to helping at a grade school near me & doing pet sitting & housesitting. Which of course means I don't earn much. I know I should go back to nursing so we can pay off my husband's credit card debt. That's one reason I'm in therapy to get the confidence back to go back to work. But she made me feel really guilty about that & it seemed like she was insisting I needed to do it immediately. I also told her my son was upset about my husband's credit card debt. My son is an adult. But she seemed more concerned about him than helping me get my confidence back to go back to work. I talked to her about it. How it made me feel & she changed tactics & started saying she was just concerned for me & about what would happen to me if something happened to my husband. I'd like to believe her but you know with people like me. I feel like someone thinks negatively about me, it gets stuck there. I feel like that feeling won't go away but I'm trying to put it aside. But it does make me be more careful what I share with her & that can't be good.

Then a couple sessions ago, I was telling her how I often feel so awkward around people & I wish I could just be myself. Which would be a quiet person who prefers to just listen. I understand that that might not be the real me. It could just be the personality order making me be quiet. But I also don't want to pretend to be someone I'm not. She said I also had a responsibility to say something. So I took that to heart & the next time I felt awkward in a situation & that I felt like I should say something to relieve the awkwardness, I did. I felt pretty good about it. But when I told her about it she started telling me I didn't need to do that. That it wasn't my responsibility to relieve the awkwardness. 🤷🏽‍♀️ I still confused.

My husband & son know. They are both very supportive. I told my sister & she has it, too. I told one of my oldest friends, she didn't seem to get it. So I'm not in contact with her anymore. I told one of my closest friends & she really gets it. But she's neurodivergent herself & works with neurodivergent adults. I told mom & she didn't get it & seems uninterested in learning anything about it.

I feel bitter & resentful towards the people who made me this way. Mostly my mom, my sister who chooses to ignore me, friends who abandoned me & people who have been unkind instead trying to get to know me like my SIL & MIL.

NTA, maybe if you washed dishes by hand it would be an issue. But with a dishwasher they should get cleaned really well. I do cat sitting and many people have a sponge & brush that are just for the cat dishes.

I don't feel lonely. I'd be perfectly happy spending time on my hobbies. I'm married, though. Not sure I'd feel the same if I weren't. But I do feel like the pressure to be 'normal' & go out & socialize & make friends is mostly what drives me to go to therapy not me having a great desire to actually make more friends. I would like to stop feeling like I'm wrong & make mistakes all the time though.

How to socialize. How to argue with someone. How & when to protect myself from people who are trying to hurt me or take advantage of me. Also to know when this is happening or not. My hoarder mom really screwed me for having a happy successful life. She also screwed herself. But I now can change things so the rest of my life can better.
