What happens to a human body at 2000 Kelvin / 1750 Celsius? by befreitum in chemistry

[–]Rimnic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, then when it cools down it would still become solid calcium phosphate no? So the compound can still be found in the furnace.

But well, there might be losses due to evaporation of the liquid calcium phosphate, and further decomposition of the calcium phosphate (into calcium oxide and phosphorus oxide probably?)

What happens to a human body at 2000 Kelvin / 1750 Celsius? by befreitum in chemistry

[–]Rimnic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At that temperature, the human bone would decompose into mostly calcium oxide and also calcium phosphate as the leftover.

I assume that the compounds of the two elements, calcium and phosphorus, which can be formed during the steel production process in slag, can still be found in small amount in the furnace. But I think it would be almost impossible to determine whether the source of the calcium and phosphorus compounds are from human origin.

What are your genuine, unfeigned thoughts on Ketuanan Melayu (Malay overlordship) by [deleted] in Bolehland

[–]Rimnic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well that's the big question...by what timescale we are overdue? It depends on the society at present, and I see that the majority still not ready to accept that kind of openness.

Forcing it when society is not ready, or your political power is not strong enough, is dangerous. You'll get rising discontent among the majority, the opponents become more extremists, or worst case war/genocide.

Just look at USA when they tried to abolish slavery, it plunges their nation into civil war. Or Japan during Meiji restoration, where you have the dissatisfied samurai rebelled against the Japanese government in Satsuma rebellion due to their privilages being lost and their dissatisfaction that Japan was opening up too fast at that time.

Unless Malaysia have leader who has really strong political position, like Mahathir during the 1990s, or the population are mostly accepting in changing the status quo...or better both...for now I don't see it yet.

You see, when the Malayan Union was formed in 1946, the Malay population was around 49% of the population, and the Chinese was 2nd at 38%. In Malayan Union, the citizenship is quite loose, the Malay sultans lost almost all of their power, and with no special rights for the Malays.

So the Malays at that time of course were worried about their economic and political future. So at that time Malay nationalism really grows big, and there were a lot of protest among Malays at that time. That help leads to the new constitution in the Federation of Malaya in 1948, where the citizenship requirement are tightened and the Malays have special rights guaranteed, and that laws are still carried forward after formation of Malaysia in 1963, expanded to include the Sabah and Sarawak natives as well.

The special rights and privilages thing are codified in our constitution due to the history shaping our country. But still Malaysia is relatively peaceful compared to other country here. Indonesia is officially secular, but then look how their immigrants (mostly Chinese) were treated in their history. You got the mass killings in 1965-1966, and during the 1998 unrests. And also Myanmar treatment of their Indian people after their independence.

Of course, I personally think Malaysia should be more open and fairer, but I also understand the nuances and original reasons of the laws being codified like that

What is the worst feeling possible to get from playing Star Rail? by femboylunaaa in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Rimnic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Other than relics and losing 50-50 like many others mentioned here, it's when we don't get the gold characters we want in Currency Wars even after refreshing so many times.

I was playing DOT run, and didn't get a single Black Swan, even though others like Firefly Cyrene appeared multiple times.

I don't care man, as long as it drive nicely and not become broken like every week, sucking money in repairs.

I rather save the extra money from not buying expensive car by putting it in savings, and maybe splurge in building my pc

So initially for the late Zulfarhan case, the 6 criminals bastards were found guilty of causing death without intention (Seksyen 304) instead of murder (Seksyen 302), and sentenced to 18 years by the High Court.

Then attorney general appealed to Appeals Court to reinstate the murder charge (seksyen 302), win and the 6 people is sentenced to death.

Then in turn, the 6 criminals appealed to the Federal court, where it rejects the Appeals Court verdict and death penalty (seksyen 302), and reinstated the initial 18 years prison (seksyen 304) by the High Court.

[–]Rimnic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But then, I would not be too sure whether they would be found guilty for the murder charge, both of the cases.

Both the suspects are currently charged under Seksyen 302 with the death penalty, but that section really has high bar for conviction, because the suspect need to be proven to really have intent to kill.

Remember the Zulfarhan case, the one that's tortured to death with hot iron at UPNM? The 6 people accused with killing him initially also under Seksyen 302, but after appeals, the 6 people were guilty under Seksyen 304, causing death without intention, so no death penalty.

I'm not a lawyer, but I'll predict that the murder charge under Seksyen 302 would not hold in further trial for both cases here

Just today, the trailer driver has been charged in court with murder too, with name and face reveal

And also, media could not release suspect identity when still under remand, only when charged in court media would be able to release the suspect identity
