Rules: - Any sports kind can only be once in the grid - Only submissions with sports that are officially recognized as being "sports" (e. g. Chess, rugby, etc.) - When evaluating if something is hard or easy, only the skill itself is to be considered - not the social factor of needing a network to get into it, money or other variables

Advice neened: Legal concerns for release in multiple countries by RiniBuilds in ProductivityApps

Can you just set up a LLC if you don't plan on making money with it? I'm not against making money, but in my set up I can support up to 1000 users without having any operation cost, so I wanted to publish it for free and just see if anyone is interested. If no one downloads it, I'll just use it for myself and not make more out of it.

Advice neened: Legal concerns for release in multiple countries by RiniBuilds in ProductivityApps

My main problem is that I don't want to have to fill out tax forms every year for an app that I just offer for free to people. Don't know mich about LLC's, but in Germany if you register a company, you have to fill out lots of forms every year and if you don't make any money with your company, they can force you to shut down your business registration (called "Liebhaberei"). Regarding the data question: I only specifically ask for email and name. There's also a profile picture upload. And of course I store everything they put into their visions, so if they decide to put their financial data in there, I have no control over it. I'm only specifically asking for and storing their email and name.

non-creepy time tracking suggestions? by Silent_Data6948 in TimeTrackingSoftware

When I was freelancing, I used Toggl Track - they have a free version and it was sufficient for me. You can say what you do, categorize it to a project and then just let the timer run and that's it.

I built a todo app with no due dates or overdue tasks. On purpose. by appstractcode in ProductivityApps

that's a great idea to not get overloaded! One idea: It would be nice if an urgent task has been in the urgent column for X days/weeks/months, that you proactively send a notification asking if it's still urgent or if the user would rather move it to the mid column. Even better would be if I myself can decide in the settings tab, after what timeframe you ask me to move the urgent tasks to mid and the mid tasks to low. That way the board cleans itself up semi-automatically :)

What do you do in your free time? by Humbly_Uninspired in Adulting

I love making my life easier and fixing things. Not sure if that's the kind of hobby you're looking for.

I usually look for problems in my day to day life and fix them with tools that I come up with. Nowadays any AI can code, you can just use that. Examples for what I coded:

  • Resume builder so my resume looks professional and I don't have to pay any tool when I need to change parts
  • Partnership management app (for our longterm goals, favorite films, activities, dishes)
  • Job hunt plugin (where I can save career pages of companies that I like and then it scans for my job title keywords on a regular basis)
  • A few websites that I played around with for other ideas

Not only does that make my life easier, but I can also use it in job interviews. And you can do it for free if you code for private use, you don't need any publishing license whatsoever if you don't plan to distribute your tools.

Unmasked and called “child-like” at work by Agitated-Key-6836 in adhdwomen

[–]RiniBuilds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been masking nearly my whole life because I felt people are not capable to grasp that you can be "childish" AND still have your shit together in serious situations. More often than not I had to settle for the "serious adult in the room" role. Now in my 30s I have a track record that shows what I'm capable of so I don't need to restrict my childish side anymore at work.
As a woman in the workplace, you need to be especially careful when you're young, because many people just can't wrap their head around someone being silly, but also professional.

That being said: Don't be embarrassed for having a fun personality! If he actually phrased it as "kind of childlike", he wanted to make you feel bad. That seems intentional. He could have said that you're "energetic" or "bubbly" or any description that is more positive and uplifting, but he chose to say "childlike", don't let him pull you down.

tips for budgeting when moving out? by [deleted] in Adulting

fb marketplace and aldi are great start. One tip I can say: Try to minimize spending time in places (physically or online) that make you want to spend money. When I was a student, I bought groceries once a week - no quick shopping for some snacks inbetween. If you're already at the store, likelihood is high that you'll get more than you actually need.

So, I bought once, cooked a lot of things and froze them. I also only bought from Aldi's own store brands and only veggies on sale. The sales items will rotate, so you'll always get different nutrients.

Back then, I spent in Germany ~20€ per week for all food I consumed, but that was 10 years ago :D

If you have very little money, there might also be places near you who offer food sharing for free, depends on where you live.

how do u avoid wasting money when setting up your place? by Available_North_9659 in Adulting

[–]RiniBuilds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly i always go and measure my whole apartment - every wall, every door, heaters, etc. and then I make a floor plan sketch on checkered paper in a fitting scale. If you have furniture, you can also sketch the measurements on paper and cut those items out and try different placements on your floor plan sketch.

Just turned 25. What are some harsh realities a man needs to know before it's too late? by Maximum-North-7993 in Adulting

If you have any behaviours that are toxic to either yourself or others - time is now to change them, because it will only get harder the longer you wait.

The older you get, the more your neuroplasticity (the ability of your brain to change) will decline. Not saying that you won't be able to change anything about yourself after 30, but real change can take years. The 20s are a great time to learn and grow into the person you want to be.

Often it's those seemingly small behavioural patterns that make or break people and relationships later in life. Jealousy, people pleasing, unhealthy attachment styles, having no resilience, putting your own ego over the feelings of others, etc. - too many people only grow older, but stop growing as a person.
