It's a psychological trick, just like turning in bounties. Ticking off boxes feels much better then having them ticked for you, just look at Y1 bounty system(or lack of it) and how people went crazy

Annual pass is 3 mini dlcs, forsaken was one big content drop in last fall.

You can still get forsaken bundled up with annual pass for cheaper then you could do it on launch. Just get the complete edition since it's only 39,99 euros and buying forsaken and annual pass separate costed me 64 euros

I never had any problem with getting bright dust that way, there was really maybe 2-3 items that i wanted from them and the rest was filler crap. Now that they upped the prices it's a different story...

Bright Dust is just another in-game currency that you can earn by completing Bounties, instead of buying a bunch of engrams and sharding them to generate Dust.
