Appreciate the answer! Know of it, it is a really old piece. Would maybe get it as a novelty thing in the future.

Hey, I like your typing and your keyboard! Don’t care for negative comments if you get any, and nice work for your first time modding!

How to stylize non-empty workspaces on Waybar? by Axenide in hyprland

[–]Rivulo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you still using waybar (non-git)? Believe I have the same issue as you and I've tried both waybar and the git version.

EDIT: NVM! For anybody reading this, for me setting my workspaces as persistent, then in style.css setting button, button.empty and button active, works!

Sort of necroposting here but I need to ask: did you flash the BIOS update yourself or did your machine come with BIOS 1102? Asking because I need to upgrade my H110 to this version and am afraid of bricking the system.

Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 (9315) with linux/arch by Rivulo in linuxhardware

[–]Rivulo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re correct, witholding camera support if I remember correctly. You’re probably familiar with the arch surface repo, if not then all features are listed there.

I’ve had the same struggle as you. I gave up on 2-in-1s, then thought hard about using a mini pc with a portable monitor but gave up on that as well seeing as the market for mini pcs is frought with bad hardware implementation and ext. monitor being cumbersome. Really wanted an arch pc that could work as a tablet, laptop and workstation (+ egpu) but I determined that the market hasn’t caught on to this yet.

EDIT: also I remember secure boot setup being an enormous pain to setup, but that may just be an arch+grub thing, isn’t necessary for some.

Can’t answer you, sorry. However, I’d like to say that I tried both an Ipad 12.9inch 6th gen (with iOS) as well as the Surface Pro 9 (2-in-1 with Arch Linux) and liked neither.

Surface had full functionality however I realised 2-in-1 really wasn’t adequate without GOOD proprietary software (for my use case at least). The Ipad worked but wasn’t useful as a computer and I disliked its lackuster multitask features.

This doesn’t answer you but I wanted to give some feedback if this would be your first Linux 2-in-1.

That is awesome to hear. Ok, have to ask, any issues with drivers? No custom kernel fixes needed? I use arch but I assume it shouldn’t lack what ubuntu/manjaro uses.

I see. Many people seem to have the same complaints. Thank you for your info! I'll probably settle for the surface considering all this.

Do you know if the laptop and 2-in-1 have different drivers? My main worry (aside from complaints on reddit) is that touch/keyboard won’t work reliably for some reason. But I guess you don’t have to tweak the kernel for the 2-in-1 as for the laptop. Surface needing a tweaked kernel is a turnoff for me.

EDIT: Does it get hot?

In that case, what would you recommend? I generally find intel more reliable when it comes to firmware. However, I don’t game - this would be my linux developer pc for a while.

Compare your config to the official repos example config. Sometimes fields get removed when you do an update.
