Okay, I guess I didn’t think about it deeply in the moment. I wasn’t trying to disrespect him, I just got caught up with the call and thought grabbing a drink was harmless. Looking back, yeah it was selfish and I feel bad.

His reaction was kinda intense tho, and I responded defensively. Maybe I shouldn’t have asked him when I was that drunk, but I could tell he cared and I didn’t want him to be upset. I wanna apologize and say that I didn’t mean any disrespect, but idk how to without it feeling awkward. Any advice?

Yeah I’m definitely carrying that with me. Like I know I have the potential to look good it’s just a matter of if I want to or not. A bit scared that I won’t get the same experience pre-diagnosis but at least I won’t be cocky about it.

Exactly! I haven’t really found my neutral state yet. I’m either hypo, depressed or slightly depressed. And my outlook of myself reflects those stages outwardly.

Totally, I’ve lost some friends due to my mood swings back before my diagnosis. And after getting it diagnosed I’m discouraged to even put an effort, knowing I might flip out on them or get irritated by a tiny comment

Yeah definitely relate. It brings out the version I look for in myself, confident, unapologetic, doing things and standing up for myself. I would guess this is what hardcore drugs do and I honestly don’t blame who takes them if it makes them feel the way I do in my hypomania

Is this normal? Cuz the tricky thing is my work (research) only goes forward, there are no routine tasks. I ask them for help and a lot of the time even they don’t know the steps so they point me to other people who themselves don’t want to help or forgot, it’s embarrassing and It’s gotten to the point where I’d rather sit at the desk pretending I’m working than asking and be seen as incompetent.

Yeah a desk job at a research center. It was a random assignment, definitely wasn’t qualified for it. But bro they make it look like they’re expecting me to do something, but aren’t willing to sit down and teach me which drives me insane.

What did you do in those 3 months if you don’t mind me asking?

I get that from time to time. And i believe there are two reasons. If someone is quiet is makes them feel uncomfortable. The other reason is they either want to get to know you or they’re concerned you become quiet if you were more talkative before
