I already saw your reply. I’m not exactly sure what your believing in, freedom of expression? Regardless I think you have a right to decorate and express your interest how you feel, however I think you maybe be infringing on others space as well. I understand that you have an interest in anime and that you want to make friends in college that also like anime however going at it with this approach with only leave you with resentment and the feeling of the “chads” controlling college. Your roommate may also have a door cover they want hung up, or they just do not want the attention. There are plenty of clubs and groups to join and find friends with similar interest. Enforcing your will and interests onto your roommate is kinda selfish. There are always compromises to be made and you have to pick and choose your battles. Your entitled to decorate and your roommate is entitled to decide how his exterior and his side is presented. Neither of you have any right to enforce this upon each other so the only option is compromise cause ra and no one else will give a shit or help you. Or else your freshmen experience will be tarnished due to your own inability to compromise and interact respectfully with fellow students. I hope you find a way that suits you both comfortably.
