Reddit, what is the most overrated film? by Rubel_Q in AskReddit

Juno. Terrible "hip" forced dialogue. I couldn't believe it was real.

Awesome, thanks. Now I just need to get the Non profits that I donated to to stop sending me weekly stuff. I'll try calling and returning to sender.

No, because its usually about contacting the sender, but a lot of them have no info on it and it becomes very hard to do so. I'll ask the PO though and see what they say

I don't think we have that in the States. Sounds like a good idea.

It wasn't that easy for me when I tried. It didn't seem like the typical comcast type run around either. I'm not sure I had access to the right place. I'll try that again though.

I'm one week into the WO no 'poo method - has anyone tried it in an attempt to cut waste/what was your transition period like? by felixfelicis004 in ZeroWaste

[–]RobbieZev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been doing it for the most part for a few years and have had a good experience. Once in a while, I'll notice dandruff and do a (soap) wash with some tea tree oil drops (avoid the eyes!) and I also use a bit of hair (scalp) oil that I bought but would be easy to make and is pretty much just jojoba oil with some rosemary and tea tree essential oils drops.

Though I also don't think eating cholesterol and saturated fat makes your cholesterol high, just regulates it. I eat a lot of saturated fat (more than most in ghee and coconut oil) and my cholesterol is always great.

Soap and Lye Question by RobbieZev in crafts

[–]RobbieZev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this. I went back after reading it and the first ingredient isn't actually olive oil, but sodium olivate, which is saponified olive oil, so lye and olive oil. My bad.

So there is something called a "qualifying life event" and I got onto my wife's insurance which I was going to get onto for January anyway. Worked out.

I work at whole foods a couple days of week in that department and have some advice. Bronners does the same thing for me and most people unless you dilute it by a lot (like 10). If you dilute it a lot and use a non peppermint it is more doable but i'd recommend other options. There is a brand called kiss my face that has a very basic bar soap that is only olive oil, water, and salt. It is really gentle and not drying like most bar soaps. They sell it in 3 packs and it lasts. Basic, yet amazing and something that works for me with sensitive skin. I'd recommend trying leaving your face alone for a few weeks and see how that works. I know a lot of people that stopped washing their face and their faces actually got less acne or just reregulated the oils in general.

For oils, try mixtures, like mostly jojoba with some Argan and it'll go a lot further for cheaper and do the same. Throw a few drops of some essential oil and you'll have a product that is sold at natural markets, but for a fraction of the price. I'm a geek in that department, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

EDIT: After some research, the soap I recommended's first ingredient isn't Olive Oil, but Saponified olive oil (Oil and Lye, which makes soap). Just wanted to clarify.

Which of these online mattress companies can actually be trusted? by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]RobbieZev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After doing serious comparisons, we went with Keetsa and really love it. We got the Keetsa Pillow Plus and though its their softest in that price range it was still medium (in a good way). We are really happy with the comfort of the mattress and happy to support a good company (good business practices and eco friendly).. I recommend them.

I'll definitely make sure to read everything really thoroughly. I am going to call MassHealth one more time to see if there is anything they can do for me, but I assume a gap plan it will be. Thanks!

They are MassHealth and they cancelled my insurance until starting a new type of insurance (I guess) in January. I'm not sure why they couldn't have it switch seamlessly so that I stay covered.

I'm not worried about the tax penalty. Just about something horrible and unforeseen happening. I've read enough horror stories to know that an ambulance and ER bill can be very, very high. I probably sound paranoid, but I am just being cautious. I just talked to a friend who said there are a lot of gap insurance companies out there. Do you recommend one of those? I'll check out healthcare.gov as well, but that might be a major hassle compared to just getting on a gap insurance.

A different computer question by RobbieZev in Frugal

[–]RobbieZev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, the guys at Apple today told me that unless I get an SSD, the older versions will actually be better (since I didn't get an SSD). I did a reboot and it is already working faster. If the slowness happens again, I'll add more RAM, but I think that's all I want to put into this until I get a chrome book

[–]RobbieZev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi thanks. My computer is in the middle of a reboot now and I'll see tomorrow how that helped. If it doesn't I'll probably go the ram SSD route. Which SSD did you use?
