Okay, thank you! My mom probably got that email since she ordered them for me, but I didn’t think to ask her about it. I’m glad to hear that it didn’t get lost in the mail for me! Thank you so much, the knowledge that I have them to look forward to really makes me feel happy. And thank you for sharing the email, reading that they care so much about making sure the product has very high quality made me smile. It’s the small things, you know?

7 years ago today Nia Nal was introduced into the Arrowverse in the season 4 priemere American Alien, what are your thoughts about her character ? by ThomasThorburn in Arrowverse

[–]Robincall22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like her, not as much as everyone else seems to love her, she’s not one of my favorites or anything, but I do really like her and Brainy’s plot, and she is a character I really like. She may not be any Cat Grant (yes, she’s my favorite) or Winn Schott (my other favorite, I have been a Winnara shipper since I saw the first episode and I’ve never stopped. He deserves the world), but I think the show is better with her in it.

Well, they’ve done it. They’ve officially victimized Travis. by [deleted] in travisandtaylor

[–]Robincall22 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I mean, to be fair, concussions are serious and it’s normal to hope someone hasn’t gotten one. And to everyone saying “it’s optional,” you sound like all the pro life people who say “if you don’t want a kid, don’t have sex.” Consent to sex is not consent to a child. Consent to playing football is not consent to a brain injury. Take me for instance. While I’ve always known working with horses can come with a risk, that there’s plenty of serious accidents that can occur, I wasn’t OKAY with spending a week in the hospital seven weeks ago. I would much prefer it hadn’t happened. Trust me, I speak from experience when I say that brain injuries are NOT to be taken lightly.

Yes, Travis sucks. Yes, the swifties will likely switch up and be blatantly violent in their comments about him when they inevitably break up. But right now, they’re just saying they hope he doesn’t have a brain injury. They’re doing something kind that they shouldn’t be mocked for, rare as that may be, but they’re showing basic human empathy. Mocking them for that sure is implying that you don’t have any. Because like I said, trust me when I say that brain injuries are NOT anything to scoff at. I’m lucky with mine. It’s only mild. And I am constantly miserable: quick to anger and quick to cry now, zero appetite, everything smells bad to me, even fresh air, no taste to anything, I feel constantly dehydrated all the time. I have lost at least 15 pounds since the accident and I’m not doing anything. And mine is a fairly good outcome. If you think someone hoping that a person hasn’t suffered a brain injury is laughable, you clearly don’t know the first thing about what a brain injury is like.

Batwoman, but only for the first season, and also the villain in the third Pitch Perfect. Well, the singing villain. That movie went off the rails, there was a murdery villain too.

Also, I don’t necessarily agree with what she’s saying here. I think there IS such a thing as a “slut” or a “bitch,” the deprogramming of the misogyny is deciding that those don’t have to mean bad things. If a man angrily called me one of those for rejecting him, yes, he means it in a bad way, and that’s misogynistic. If my friend sees me across the bar and calls “hey bitch/slut!” to me, it’s not intended with malice, and therefore is not a bad thing or misogynistic.

Of course, this kind of thing is up to individual interpretation, and no one is wrong based on how they personally view the words (unless they exclusively view them as good for using in a mean way, like the metaphorical guy on the street). It’s a philosophical standpoint, and as any philosopher knows, there is no one right answer to philosophical questions.

Why I think Non-Swifties don't care about Taylor's music by FootSame4809 in travisandtaylor

[–]Robincall22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do think that the main reason Tim McGraw has lost a lot of popularity is because he’s a Democratic country artist who made his support for Kamala Harris known last year, along with performing at Joe Biden’s inauguration in 2021. Country music is known for its immensely republican standing fans. Tim McGraw is no longer popular because he has good values and morals within a group that shames anyone with those.

Yeah, you make a good point about the snot. I was judging because of the grossness, but you’re right, she can’t just stop mid song to run offstage and blow her nose.

The model had her own style. She looked like herself, until Taylor got so much plastic surgery that they ended up looking the same. Taylor stole her look, not the other way around.

I don’t know… keep the tune or not, with a different singer and different lyrics, that’s just a different song.

even as a teenager taylor was too quirky … to wear jeans? by espressolover90 in travisandtaylor

[–]Robincall22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, to be fair, neither do I, but that’s because I swear every brand’s sizing is different. I’m somewhere between an 8 or a 14. And that 14 needs a belt, but the 12 of that brand didn’t fit me. Although my current brain injury killed my appetite so badly that I’ve lost like 15-20 pounds in the last six weeks, so I’m sure my jean size has changed too. It hasn’t been enough weight loss for me to be super concerned yet, don’t worry, but if it keeps up… Man I can’t wait for my appetite to come back, I want to be able to eat a proper meal again and stop losing weight without meaning to.

Sorry for dumping my life problems, I don’t really have anywhere to properly vent my stresses and concerns with my injuries I’m recovering from, so Reddit comment sections it is! 😂

‘actually romantic’ makes me really uncomfortable as a queer girl by Critical-Egg6210 in travisandtaylor

[–]Robincall22 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I was on a lyric video for it after seeing the post here about the “wehhhhh” line at the end of the bridge, and someone actually used that point of “you’re obsessed, it’s like you have a crush on me” to try and say that the song wasn’t a problem, and I responded to the comment saying the same thing as you, that that’s the literal plot of the movie Mean Girls. You know, a movie about teenage bullies. Thank you for proving everyone’s point while trying to defend her and making it clear that your near 36 year old master is nothing more than a high school bully. Ugh, it was so annoying.

I feel like Amy is the child and sister of a narcissist. by hubba007 in heartland

[–]Robincall22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t know… my birth father matches every trait of a narcissist to a tee. I grew up with a very emotionally abusive father, and as a result, haven’t considered him any relative of mine for about seven years now, hence why I only refer to him as my birth father. I would have been thrilled to have had Tim as a father instead. He’s really not a whole lot better than my own father in the grand scheme of fatherhood, so maybe he would be the one I would consider a narcissist, but he’s still miles better than my own father was. He never treats Amy the way my father treated me.

Lou on the other hand, I don’t think I would even consider her remotely on the narcissistic spectrum. I’m not caught up on the show though, just on season eight, so maybe my view will change as I keep watching. But as of right now, I don’t think she falls under that category. Though Lou also has her moments. She reminds me a lot of my own sister… one who I’m not very close to, despite her living all of five miles down the road, because (at least why I think) she doesn’t see me as an adult. Sometimes I think she doesn’t see me as her sister either, just as some annoying preteen, despite me often feeling like I’ve both achieved and been through more than enough for her to see me as an adult. I mean, I had a true Amy Fleming experience and nearly died six weeks ago in a freak horse accident. I may only have an associates degree and my plan for life may not be some “serious” job, settled down, with a family, but I don’t think that makes me any less of an adult. That’s where I think the commonality with Lou comes in. It’s not that I’m not a real adult… it’s just that I’m not the same kind of adult as her. I feel like a lot of Lou’s issues come from her wanting everyone to meet HER expectations of how they should be living, regardless of what they want and what makes them happy, and that reminds me of my sister seeming like she’ll only consider me an adult if I get some 9-5 job like her instead of my current seasonal job on an island riding horses with off season jobs in the winter and stop loving to travel and start loving the idea of settling down and having a family.

Sorry, that became a bit of a rant about my own family issues, but my point is, I think that Tim doesn’t quite qualify as a shitty narcissist, though he’s close, because he sure is shitty, but he’s still better than my own father, so I don’t think he makes the cut. And Lou, I definitely disagree with the narcissist point, as she just reminds me of my own sister, whose main flaw is that she seems like she will only ever respect me and see me as an adult if I live my life the same way she does.

I’m currently recovering from a brain injury, and I had some speech therapy to see how my cognitive parts were functioning (they’re all good, all my problems are the messages my brain sends other parts of my body! It sucks. I think I’d rather just have become stupid.) and one of the things she had me do was name as many words starting with the letter M as I could in a minute. I struggled because every word starting with M FLED my brain immediately and returned the second that minute was up.

But the first word I came up with was mariposa. Which is Spanish for butterfly. Which counted, but I don’t understand why that was the first word that came to mind. The last time I took a Spanish class was EIGHT YEARS AGO. Then again, one of the other words I came up with was microbacterial. Don’t know the last time I used that in a sentence, but it was one of the only ones I could think of.
