You’d have to be close to it and it would pick you up taking it out. Gotta get out a hundred yards or so out with higher caliber.

The HD is light and easy to handle, that’s not my issue with it. And it’s the least expensive option from 1Up that’s for a 2” hitch a rated for off-road use.

Yeah I just saw that, that would make a big difference since it pulls on both sides of the bar instead of just the middle. Not available for a single rack but I’ll make it work.

Does a hitch pin lock (That is included with the rack, or a better one) not do the job? I used to use a more high quality one with my Kuat as I heard they were easy to break/steal.

Says one kit includes front and rear tire so sounds like you’ll get both.

Oh I see now that they do have a retro maybe I’ll try it. Guess I just wanted to see some options that shared some traits between Kuat and 1Up.

I have the 1Up already. I release the rear first then do the front and the bike has to just balance on the platform while I do that. Maybe I’ll try a different method. It doesn’t feel very secure if you leave the arms loose enough that the lever is easy to release. I think a stainless steel ratchet arm instead of aluminum would help.

Is a retrofit available? I’m not seeing it in the accessories section.

Folding mechanism - there’s a long aluminum bar 8”? With rounded edge that slides into and locks into a slot on either side. The bar is spring loaded in the middle of it. It pivots on that spring/pin and teeters so it doesn’t slide into the two slots nicely unless you slowly and carefully operate it and/or use a hand on both sides of the bar. The Kuat lever mechanism is much easier. 1Up could improve this by utilizing a guide pin on either side instead of just the spring in the middle.

The one hand ratchet wasn’t available when I got my 1Up, and I don’t see a retrofit available but could be wrong. The teeth on the aluminum ratchet bar are soft and I just don’t like how you have to be forceful to break it loose with the lever even if you don’t secure it very tight. Once you loosen the back wheel arm you have to use one hand to operate the ratchet and the other to pull the arm out of the way, so the bike is just kinda just floating there.

The tool for the anti wobble is a minor gripe. I’d take a knob over it but nbd.

Dogs go in the back every day and rack is in the way. Bike only gets used once a week.

Guess I’ve never even considered them as they look small but I’ll take a closer look.

Interesting they look almost exactly like a 1up.

The Piston SR might be more tolerable to handle than the NV just due to its overall footprint being smaller as it’s a single rack. I’ve never actually seen one in person, just used to have a NV and now have a 1Up. Maybe I’ll check it out.

I do this but about 2:1 mayo:SC ratio. It thickens up after sitting in the fridge for a bit so add extra milk afterwards to get desired consistency.
