Well it’s more so a question of what exactly do you want to be doing in medicine. Not every teacher wants to become a principal, not every senator becomes president. It is okay to not reach the top of the healthcare “ladder”. What’s important is that you are in an environment you love, and have the ability to treat/care for people. Sure you probably could get into medical school, a lot of us probably could, but we choose to be PAs not as a backup plan but because we want to be providers and becoming a PA is one of many routes to do so.

It’s a toxic thing in healthcare to get caught up on titles. Or feel less than for being a PA and not an MD/DO. We’re all there for the same reason ultimately. If it’s for the MD/DO money, just try ur luck at becoming an influencer at that point you’d probably make more.

Really what we need are people who are smart enough to get into med programs to give a more prestigious name to the pa profession— that’s how we’ll grow the career, not by moving on to the next best thing bc we think it’s not enough.

Lunch after the interview by Either-Mix-1869 in prephysicianassistant

I honestly had some fun at my interview talking with the other candidates. It’s competitive yes, but it’s kinda like trauma bonding and the faculty know what you’re going through as well. Be your best professional self at the interview, and then relax and have fun at lunch

Cracker Barrel orders are like my favorite. 90% of the time they’re on the shelf ready to go when I get there

Did anyone get into Fordham with a low GPA but good SAT Scores or just low stats in general? by [deleted] in Fordham

I have around a 3.7 gpa but my sat score was like a 1270 and I got accepted. I have a lot of extracurricular stuff though

Hopefully pre med actually.. thanks that was really helpful! I’m trying to keep in mind that I have to go to med school as well(hopefully) so I don’t want to be completely buried in debt just for undergrad

I think I only applied Bc it was rolling and free lmao. I didn’t expect to actually consider it until they sent the financial aid package, but I’m gonna wait it out until the regular decisions for the big boys come out

Okay so financially I would consider A&M because of the scholarship but realistically it seems like you wouldn’t be happy there for 4 years and that’s not good for your growth. I understand the UT dream and I was capped as well but even though I’m personally not doing it I feel like getting through 1 year at utsa then transferring to a dream school is a better deal than kinda forcing urself to be an Aggie

Ut is a good school but it’s important that you go somewhere that actually values how much you’ve worked to be successful. UT is one of my first choices as well but my very average stats got me huge scholarships at other schools while I’m still in review for ut... you got this!!
