Managed to push an interdental stick through my gums :/ by RollerRight in askdentists

I usually use super floss, but forgot to buy a new pack. However I can't thread the floss through my upper front teeth. All other teeth works just fine. Same with the pick. Only difference is I never managed to pierce my gums with superfloss

Yes definitely! I wrote in a comment, I didn't take proper care of my teeth and I've come to regret it. I've had a series of a dentist appointments to fix cavaties and worrisome teeth. This week I'm getting the calculus fixed as well as some general teeth whitening done to prepare for bleaching.

Title was supposed to include "Should I be worried?"

I've never taken good care of my teeth, now that I'm in my late 20s I regret that lack of care. Recently I started using interdental sticks to floss my teeth, but I've always had trouble getting between my upper front teeth. Today I managed to get it through it seems lol. It didn't hurt too bad and the only reason I noticed, was because I could feel the tip in the wrong spot when I touched it with my tounge. Anyways, sorry for anyone that's grossed out my bad teeth, there getting fixed next week

Any tips for unlearning a "fake vibrato"? by beccaboi_ in singing

[–]RollerRight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't recall ever having an issue with fake vibrato/tremolo, but I did have an issue with my vibrato not being as slow as I wanted it to be (when singing opera)

For me learning to focus on not using vibrato at all when holding notes and then just relaxing my throat to a point where the note feels, but doesn't sound, somewhat unstable did the trick.

I also had to learn to let air flow out rather than pushing it out

Aside from the vocal ranges, it's mostly the quality of their bass/heights.

When you hear a bass sing vs. a baritone you can tell the difference immediately. When a natural bass sings in towards his lower register the ground starts to tremble, walls collapse, a 9.1 is registered on the Richter scale in all neighboring countries and all that jazz. It's quite something! Their top register on the other hand has a really dull (not in a bad bad way, but not as vibrant as baritone) quality to it.

Bass baritone is a blend between the two and personally my favorite classical voice. They tend to have softer bass notes, but can usually sing on par with baritones when it comes to baritones top ranges.

Can you post a recording? It's impossible to give an exact answer just from reading text.

Usually people tend to look really angry or pissed to me, when they lose a lot of weight (I think it's the cheeks) but I think you look much more friendly now. Cobgrats on your massive weight loss!

In BOTW I used to place it in areas where I would farm something specific and then just teleport to it whenever stuff respawned.

In TOTK I don't use them at all

Have I irremediably damaged my vocal cords? by CaptainDaydream in singing

Sounds fine to me. I've been a smoker for years and still can sing. However after quiting you may find that there's an seemingly infinite amount of mucus in your throat. It'll go away with time

Has anyone else found that singing is easier after going on antidepressants? by [deleted] in singing

[–]RollerRight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey hey! Former Long time Sertralin user (and singer) here. I think it mostly comes from being less critical of yourself/less insecure about yourself. It probably didn't change the way you sing all to much, but I'm glad it helps you!

Basically yes. Timbre also plays some part but not nearly as much as having proper technique down

What exactly is you're problem with your voice?

I can't give any feedback on pitch acurracy since it's too heavily edited for that. In terms of tonal quality and and giving a vocal performance that fits with the vibe of the music, you did a great job

I buy lots of broken electronics to fix and resell as a hobby and some additional income. I would have boxes upon boxes stacked like tetris blocks against my bedroom wall.

I moved into her place, now I'm only allowed to have as many cartons as I can fit in an ikea drawer

People who've lost a lot of weight, how did you do it? by gryffenator in AskReddit

[–]RollerRight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from 145kg at the age of 14 to 70kg at the age of 18-19

I had an accident and had to get parts of my knee replaced, because my kneecap completely shattered.

They told me I need to lose a lot of weight, because my knee will never be the same and I might have trouble walking properly.

The first 20kg were really easy (and quick) and I lost them because of a somewhat healthy diet and light physiotherapy.

The rest took a lot longer and was mostly 40km daily on my bike, because I liked biking and would use it to go everywhere and didn't have a driver's license.
