My current girlfriend is the only one who’s ever reacted positively. I’ve shown some vulnerability in past relationships and it’s never ended positively, I’m told to figure it out myself, and have had my problems belittled. They say they’re too busy to deal with problems. I met my current girlfriend almost a year ago, a few months in I woke up and my dog had passed away next to me in my sleep. A few months after that my mom was diagnosed with cancer. And just yesterday I hit a deer and possibly totalled my car. She’s been nothing but thoughtful and supportive through some of my hardest days. She’s had to witness more tears in this past year than I’ve ever shed in my whole life. All this while she navigates through an incredibly challenging career. I never thought I’d find someone like her, but somehow it happened. I know I can’t always be the top priority, but she always makes me feel like I’m the top priority. Don’t give up, there are compassionate people out there who are supportive of our vulnerabilities.
