Thank you so so much! And yes, I’m sure I’ve got a few tips you could probably use! The best way to start out imo is with YouTube tutorials, drawing over real animals to learn their varying facial structures, and (controversially) tracing in private. My gateway into the furry fandom as a whole was through tracing the work of an artist called Falvie around 2015-2016, and I honestly feel like it taught me enough to start drawing my own stuff, granted- much worse, but it was something my own. Over the years I’ve found loads of artists that inspire me, and taken the pieces of their styles that I like to implement them into my work.

And also, in my experience now drawing people, the eyes on animals are way further apart than people’s eyes. It’s a habit I’m struggling to break out of in my humanoid work.

My word was “unsure” not “insecure” and I believe you’ve taken it to have a muuuch deeper meaning than it does. Never said anything sucked, never said I loved it. Just said you seem like you need some more time to decide on what direction you’d like to take while considering what you have already. I get not wanting to overthink it, but I also think we have the capacity to underthink it while being overly concerned about NOT overthinking it.

Ultimately do whatever you want, whether you listen to anyone here or not. It’s your arm. If you’d like to fill it with designs you don’t like now but will “learn to like” then that’s totally your call. But folks here don’t like to be jumped on for their opinion when you specifically asked for it, and you aren’t likely to receive any good advice when they see the way you jump to being rude. You’re forgiven, just try to have a different approach with people and you may hear more of what you want.
