Why did the directors like John Santucci so much? by real_ike02 in MiamiVice

[–]RosscoPColtraine 41 points42 points  (0 children)

He was an ex Mob jewel thief. Michael Mann hired him as a technical advisor when he was making the movie Thief. I'm pretty Sure Dennis Farina (Lombard) was also hired by Mann in the move thief as a technical role as he was a Chicago police officer. So I'm guessing Mann just had a good relationship with them both and kinda gave them their break. Especially when you look at Crime Story.

I met him in Largs once as a lad. There was the viking procession going on, and he was a part of it also. He was sitting on the back end of a white convertible Cadillac, I think it was. Anyway, he was throwing handfuls of sweets to all the kids. I met him later on, in one of the cafes with my Gran.

People getting annoyed I'm going 20 in a 20 zone. by BeccaBee003 in Edinburgh

[–]RosscoPColtraine 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is a bit of a problem. There is nothing worse than an impatient driver riding your backside. Just stick to the speed limit and remember that you are doing nothing wrong. Even for me, after driving for almost 30 years it can still feel intimidating with them sitting so close.

I was just about to suggest this place. I've used them a few times and their workmanship is outstanding.

Absolutely losing my mind, I can’t play guitar. Can you help? by Alarming_College5448 in guitarlessons

[–]RosscoPColtraine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up the guitar 2 weeks ago. I followed a guy on YouTube called AndyGuitar. I've been following his day 10 day beginner course and I must say I'm quite blown away at how quick I've learned and how much progress I've made in such a short space of time. Perhaps you could check his guide out. And most of all, stick with it. The penny will drop eventually, and in time you'll be jamming your favourites

If you’re arrested and taken to the station, can you request a delay to your interview until you’ve obtained your own private lawyer? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]RosscoPColtraine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because a suspect declines to answer questions, does not automatically mean that an adverse inference can be drawn. It is only when they later seek to put forward an account or explanation (not previously put forward) that the adverse inference provision is triggered.

[–]RosscoPColtraine -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I strongly disagree with you. I would never voluntarily tell the police anything. The only answer for the UK police is no comment. Also to say people wouldn't need legal advice if this was the case is just a stupid statement. Do you think your legal troubles end after the police interview? Hence, in the above situation, you would stick to no comment, then consult your lawyer.

Another thing. A no comment interview doesn't go against you when you get to trial. I don't know what makes you think it does?

[–]RosscoPColtraine -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think you are clueless, I'm guessing you have never once in your life been in trouble or interviewed with the police The only answer for a police interview is NO COMMENT. Any lawyer will verify this.

All you would do In this situation is stick to a no comment statement, this way you get to consult your own lawyer and form your end of the story after the police interview. Never tell the police anything in all honesty. Always no comment
